While searching through my old files I came across a WAV of me playing the melody of a song on an old Casio keyboard (link - forgive the poor quality of playing, I was probably, like, 13 at the time). I still haven't found out what this song is - I seem to remember hearing it a long time ago at the laser show at Stone Mountain Park, GA. I remember it seemed pretty weird and abstract to me at the time, though by my standards now it's probably pretty straightforward. If anyone knows what song this is, plz tell me.

(the melody I play in that wav might not be completely accurate since I only heard the song once)

Fuck! I totally know that. That's really bugging me now.

And the provenance of the soundfile makes it very poignant.

ARRGHH! It's halfway though that it suddenly falls into place.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 25 November 2004 00:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, I'm the same...hopefully someone will rescue us. Or Curtis will spread his frustrated misery all over the internet...

Jesus Christ, it's beautiful. The first 2/3rds of the melody sound exactly like Blondie's "Call Me," just played in a different rhythm.

Chuckling at the Tomkat's Marquee (Ben Boyer), Thursday, 25 November 2004 00:31 (twenty-one years ago)

It's a 'Call Me'/'The Animals Went In Two By Two' mashup.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 25 November 2004 00:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I KNOW it wasn't "Call Me" ;)

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Thursday, 25 November 2004 02:22 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah i though "call me" too.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 25 November 2004 02:27 (twenty-one years ago)

it's a mash up of "call me" by blondie and "call me" by spagna.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 25 November 2004 02:32 (twenty-one years ago)

i want someone to figure this out.

I've done several searches for a tracklist of the Stone Mountain laser show, to no avail

SOMEONE PLEASE PUT ME OUT OF MY MISERY ONCE AND FOR ALL

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Saturday, 29 January 2005 04:08 (twenty-one years ago)

sounds like a call me/god bless mash-up.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 29 January 2005 04:34 (twenty-one years ago)

ahhh this sounds REALLY familiar. Was it all insturmental/new agey? could it be mannheim steamroller or something like that?

tylero (tylero), Saturday, 29 January 2005 07:59 (twenty-one years ago)

yes, kind of.

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Saturday, 29 January 2005 16:03 (twenty-one years ago)

you don't think anything, of my suggestion?

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 30 January 2005 02:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I am quite sure it is not a Call Me/God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen mashup

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Sunday, 30 January 2005 02:11 (twenty-one years ago)

It's purdy. It sounds like it might be some tv theme perhaps?

Bretty (Bretty), Sunday, 30 January 2005 02:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Re: last two posts:

Many times I've gotten "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" stuck in my head, but since I don't know the words, I insert the lyrics to "Gilligan's Island" in their place. "To save us all from... motorcar, not a single luxury, like Robinson Curusoe, primative (pause) a-as can BE" etc.

Sorry, that's not much help.

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 29 June 2007 00:37 (nineteen years ago)

curtis, we used to get ray lynch CDs at the oberlin radio station all the time, and they'd always get filed in 'freeform,' which left them with me. who stole them.

How on earth did you find it suddenly after so long? I'm curious!

Trayce, Friday, 29 June 2007 07:09 (nineteen years ago)

Trayce, Friday, 29 June 2007 07:10 (nineteen years ago)

one year passes...

Ok I read this thread a bunch of years ago, downloaded the .wav, listened, and it was INCREDIBLY familiar to me but I too, felt the frustration of never being able to place it. I randomly came across the song on Youtube today and excitedly came here to see if I could find this thread again. Glad to see it was answered! What a dumb/cool song
