I know the Johnny Thunders cover, which is pretty great, though I've no doubt Dion's original trounces it royally.

Great single. So's "Little Diane." So's "Sandy."

Though my POO might have to be "Daddy Rollin' (In Your Arms)."

Along with the above, these are the only Dion you need:

Dion & The Belmonts - A Teenager In Love
Dion & The Belmonts - Come On Little Angel
Dion & The Belmonts - Donna The Prima Donna
Dion & The Belmonts - I Wonder Why
Dion & The Belmonts - Lonely Teenager
Dion & The Belmonts - Love Came To Me
Dion & The Belmonts - Lovers Who Wander
Dion & The Belmonts - Ruby Baby
Dion & The Belmonts - Runaround Sue
Dion & The Belmonts - Take Good Care Of My Baby
Dion & The Belmonts - The Majestic
Dion & The Belmonts - The Wanderer

and his only two good solo songs:

Dion Dimucci - Born To Be With You
Dion Dimucci - In And Out Of The Shadows

Come now. What about "Abraham, Martin and John"?

Ken L (Ken L), Saturday, 27 November 2004 15:21 (twenty-one years ago)

It just don't do it for me brar. Best left to Marv.

Affectian (Affectian), Saturday, 27 November 2004 15:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Gotta have "Your Own Back Yard."

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Sunday, 28 November 2004 02:25 (twenty-one years ago)

And whaddabout "Drip Drop"?!

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Sunday, 28 November 2004 02:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Drip Drop always sounded to me like a novelty knockoff of Ruby Baby, but I like it and agree it should be in there too.

Ken L (Ken L), Sunday, 28 November 2004 02:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, "Drip Drop" was also a Drifters cover like "Ruby Baby," so it could well have been a knockoff the first time around.

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Sunday, 28 November 2004 10:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Exactly. To tell the truth, I like the Drifters versions but I prefer the Dion covers of both these songs.

Ken L (Ken L), Sunday, 28 November 2004 13:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Oy vey, 'Drip Drop' is way too silly for me. Must hunt out 'Your own back yard' though.
