24 hours later, i am having serious trouble understanding why anybody would rather hear "saturday night style" than "voice of jah" and why in fact anybody would rather hear the former having already heard the latter.
the related and relevant question: do dub reissues really sell so much better than roots reissues? why didn't auralux just reissue "african anthem"??
not so related but still relevant - i wasn't able to catch mikey dread at a local bar last night but i think he'll probably swing back through before too long ... has anybody seen him lately? or can anybody recommend any good 70s roots rockers who are still worth seeing in concert?

i don't seriously think dub is a bad idea i just don't get the prevalence of dub reissues.

More importantly, it is ideal for stoned listening.

obvious dub classic: Burning Spear's Garvey's Ghost, and I only have the supposedly watered-down version. For a non-Bill Shatner Star Trek related purchase:check out dub version of the Black Uhuru song "Ion Storm."

i'm with you vahid. i really like disco mixes which extend the orig track with a dub. i also really like hearing both the dub and vcl track (not nessecarily in that order).
theres a rwynolds article from the wire from a few years back which focuses on his love of vcl reggae (which is pretty surprising, given his penchant for aural psychedelia)
