Very spacious, and sounds a bit too spacious on headphones, but I reckon live that bass would make you suffer. She's playing in Brighton too - Pressure Point, end of January - so I'll find out then...

I think discogs calls the label "ghettotech" which is pretty apt.

I have weiss.mix so I wasn't going to bother with this. It's hardly like the price is any kind of risk here! NOW you tell me it's good. Maybe I might. Would it compare favourably to her DJ Kicks CD?

spacious FX, glacial beats, endless bass, creaky samples. sort of like what you'd expect if LFO remixed portishead or massive attack. actually, a slowed-down LFO (circa "advance") with trip-hoppy touches is a pretty good reference point. if that sounds good you may want to slsk her older work, like the "melodious thunk" or "ballbreaker" eps, or the "drumulator ep" as inky blacknuss. i've got all that old shit on slsk if anybody wants it...
happy to hear about this mix cd but it's a bit late, isn't it?? i thought all the nu skool breaks people had moved on to making unkle style guitars-and-beats tracks.

i guess the "sub-sub-portishead" argument is that the songwriting isn't up to par with portishead. true enough, it's really not. your mileage will have something to do with whether or not you enjoy her IDM-y production touches, whether or not you have the patience for dj vadim albums ("kiss my arp" is about that sloooooow) and how much you like big depth charge bass sounds.
the singles are much better than the album if only because they're more compact.

So there you go :)

i feel more complete.
the mix is special and easily worth the entry price.
i just know that this mix along with Ivan Smagghe's Suck My Decks is going to dominate the next couple of weeks. (this week i have hardly listened to anything else but that mix ... )
when i bought it the record shop dude told me (to the soundtrack of Roots Manuva's new album that is much better than the new single would have you believe !) that the label involved was kinda struggling financially ..
then again - theres no label website, no info, nothing ... and all vinyl based releases ..
surely this aint going to help the label ..
i suspect i now really need the K7! mix she put together.
unfortunately that means ebay .. not this dreaded p2p malarkey.
onwards !mark e/ireallylovemusic

yeah but this mix isn't really ghettotech at all, mark. it's just uber-bassy nu skool breaks.
here are some ghettotech tracks for you to listen to:

ta for the pointers re ghettotech ..
xpost : now thats the kind of recommendation i need (i was soo tempted by weatheralls fabric mix till i read that thread !).
too many fabric comps/mixes have made me stay away .. but damn if you are telling me that radioactive man is the one .. then thats on my wants list ..(i always expected it to be almost too intense for my innocent ears ..

6 years on a response : love it
the space in the production, the depth in the sonics, make this all that i love about ambient techno.
i have a few days of neighbourless freedom, so the first cd to properly test the bass bins was this compilation, followed by nobodys perfect part one as i have not heard it in years.
did not even know there was a part three until an hour ago.
no doubt another glass or 2, and it will be ordered.
