Search and Destroy: KARP

So I've never heard of this band before the K Records Hate Thread, but a quick glance around and this seems to be universally hailed as the greatest, most ass-kicking thing ever (ok, maybe not). I'm curious enough to shell out some hard-earned Canadian maple syrup to check them out, so should I go with "Suplex", the self-titled or the singles compilation "Action Chemistry"? Or perhaps this is more S0uls33k-worthy?

"Bacon Industry" is a great fuckin' track.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 19 January 2005 14:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Action Chemistry over Suplex.
Moustaches Wild is also good.

Trip Maker (Sean Witzman), Wednesday, 19 January 2005 14:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I have the most love for "Self Titled LP" myself, but most of all for the two tracks off the "Karp/Rye Coalition Split" LP/CD, "Obstacle Corpse" and...

"GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET YOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUURRRRRRR HAAAAAAAAAAAAANDS
OFFA MYYYYYYY CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKEEEEEEE!"

with some not-so-subtle Cheap Trick lyrical references too into one big sludgy epic.

(bonus tracks on that CD from KARP from a live show on KXLU as well.)

I just did a search to post the same link to the trailer.

Had the pleasure of seeing Karp 8 or 9 times. We also gigged with The Whip a few times. I remember I was on tour in Denver when I heard the news about Scotty. We dedicated our set to him that night.

GREAT BAND.

the one band that my XGF and I could bond over. KARP. They had a dope t-shirt that she always wore that had the NRA (no, not that one, the Nat'l Recovery Act) logo on it:

Listened to S/T on the way home tonight, pity there's no London showing, or maybe it's gone already.
