does anyone have tracks 1 and 3 from ganymed's future world?

cathy berberian (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 21 January 2005 00:35 (twenty-one years ago)

no

anything by Thomas Shaw/Tom Shaw, the bluesman, not the other guy doing trance or something.

tremendoid (tremendoid), Friday, 21 January 2005 02:53 (twenty-one years ago)

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 21 January 2005 02:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Chuckling at the Tomkat's Marquee (Ben Boyer), Friday, 21 January 2005 02:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I want the Flaming Lips cover of "Seven Nation Army" that they have _here_, but in good mp3 quality.

chopher (chopher), Friday, 21 January 2005 03:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Fiery Furnaces - I'm Leaving (from Junior Kimbrough comp - who has this??)

new Howling Hex album (i'll buy it anyway, natch, but super curious / psyched)

Mark Chesnutt - I'm A Saint (whrr my nu country ILMers at??)

new John Frusciante album, Curtains (also the title of an older song of his, making fruitless (soul)seeking even more frustrating)

Overbite, Friday, 21 January 2005 05:24 (twenty-one years ago)

GHANA SOUNDZ 2

AJ, Friday, 21 January 2005 06:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I have the firey furnaces kibrough cover.

Austin (Austin), Friday, 21 January 2005 07:02 (twenty-one years ago)

So anyway, should I gmail it to ya or what?

Austin (Austin), Friday, 21 January 2005 07:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Like everyone else I'm also looking for the Kimbrough comp. Specifically the Fiery Furnaces and Spiritualized tracks.

Also...

"Hall Of Mirrors" - Emperor Jones space rock comp with Kinski, Acid Mothers, Circle, Bardo Pond, and the usual suspects.
Thai Beat A Go-Go Volume 2
Oneida - "Nice / Splittin' Peaches"
Tom Carter, Vanessa Arn & The Moglass - "Snake-Tongued, Swallow-Tailed"
Musique Concret - "Bringing Up Baby"
Edip Akbayram & Dostlar - "Nedir Ne Decildir?"
Joe Meek - "Random Flakes" bootleg

Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Wednesday, 26 January 2005 02:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Belay the Oneida request, it's everywhere now.

Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Wednesday, 26 January 2005 02:35 (twenty-one years ago)

new John Frusciante album, Curtains (also the title of an older song of his, making fruitless (soul)seeking even more frustrating)

This is up on the Pirate Bay torrent site

Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Wednesday, 26 January 2005 03:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Turns out I lied - I don't have that Kimbrough/FF track.

Sorry.

Austin (Austin), Wednesday, 26 January 2005 04:01 (twenty-one years ago)

what's the 'piracy bay torrent site?'

ps it's supposed to be out today

Roger Fidelity (Roger Fidelity), Wednesday, 26 January 2005 04:18 (twenty-one years ago)

tremendoid (tremendoid), Saturday, 29 January 2005 06:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Peel Session version of "If There Is Something" by Roxy Music, anyone?

haitch (haitch), Saturday, 5 February 2005 15:17 (twenty-one years ago)

geez, finding *anything* on slsk is a chore these days. what's going on with it, lately?

john'n'chicago, Saturday, 5 February 2005 17:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I've been wanting to re-listen to the old John Williams Sky albums, but they're almost impossible to search for, what with the artist name being "sky" and the album names being "sky", "sky 2", "sky 3", etc. Bah.

JimD (JimD), Saturday, 5 February 2005 17:27 (twenty-one years ago)

i've given up on it for the moment. it's really, really a shame but it's completely sucked lately, i've just been getting needlessly frustrated searching for things.

Roger Fidelity (Roger Fidelity), Saturday, 5 February 2005 17:40 (twenty-one years ago)

"needlessly frustrated searching for things."

Me too. My searches turn up fewer results than before the late December meltdown, and many of the users are not online.

pheNAM (pheNAM), Saturday, 5 February 2005 18:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Masters Of The Obvious "Rot Rot Rot"

neil tacus (tacit), Saturday, 5 February 2005 18:32 (twenty-one years ago)

The Avalanches: "Since I Left You" and "Frontier Psychiatrist" in single versions. I have the album and all, but the way the tracks on the album blend into each other make the abrupt endings really annoying when putting them on mix cds etc.

OleM (OleM), Saturday, 5 February 2005 18:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I've been wanting to re-listen to the old John Williams Sky albums, but they're almost impossible to search for, what with the artist name being "sky" and the album names being "sky", "sky 2", "sky 3", etc. Bah.

i have one of those albums on vinyl. i can't digitize at the moment, but if you have a turntable, send me an SASE and the record's yours.

oskar shindig! (Jody Beth Rosen), Saturday, 5 February 2005 19:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I've been wanting to re-listen to the old John Williams Sky albums, but they're almost impossible to search for, what with the artist name being "sky" and the album names being "sky", "sky 2", "sky 3", etc

1) Use CDDB, AMG or similar to find track titles
2) Slsk "Sky" plus a suitably distinctive track title
3) Browse the files of any users having this file
4) Well, it might work?

OleM (OleM), Saturday, 5 February 2005 20:33 (twenty-one years ago)

mia is shit., Saturday, 5 February 2005 21:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Mr. Snrub (Mr. Snrub), Friday, 11 February 2005 02:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Niney Holness and the Observers - "Mutiny"

john'n'chicago, Friday, 11 February 2005 04:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks for replying, Snrub, but I found both of them! I used the devious trick of searching for one of the b-side tracks, and found someone with the whole single.

OleM (OleM), Friday, 11 February 2005 10:59 (twenty-one years ago)

new beat. i want new beat. anything as long as it's NEW BEAT. :-(

stevie nixed (stevie nixed), Friday, 11 February 2005 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

kinda obvious, one would think, but putting your slsk user name in your request might allow people to find you on slsk. Unless these posts are simply informational and not really requests.

the obvious, Friday, 11 February 2005 21:34 (twenty-one years ago)

nathalie barefoot in the head (stevie nixed), Sunday, 27 March 2005 19:19 (twenty-one years ago)

The single version of "Art of Noise with Max Headroom - Paranoimia" (the 3m:16s version that starts out "Relax, You're Quite Safe Here", not the shitty, schitzophrenic remake version that noodles on pointlessly for 8 and 1/2 minutes.)

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Saturday, 7 May 2005 18:48 (twenty-one years ago)

try the 'Teaching Company' and various 'Audio Book' rooms. There's probably other non-music rooms with more cryptic names somewhere.

Revive!

Does ANYBODY have the edited three-and-a-half minute version of Belle and Sebastian's "Your Cover's Blown"? It was the 7" single B-Side to "Wrapped Up in Books". I have it on vinyl and I tried converting it to mp3 myself, but it came out all distorted and shit.

Mr. Snrub (Mr. Snrub), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 14:47 (twenty-one years ago)
