man, that series of long-exposure photos inside "lifestylez ov da poor and dangerous" of an unmoving big l sitting on the project porch, eyes closed (except for the final group photo) while the world moves around him inside is real beautiful.

take out that second 'inside', if you will.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Sunday, 23 January 2005 23:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Or in a booklet, for that matter.

well it's a real narrow question so i guess i'll take what we can get.

uhm, xpost. (huh?)

ps. i'm looking at it again and i've noticed that his eyes are actually slightly open in all the shots, he's just heavy lidded.

search: Akinyele on Vagina Diner

fisheye shot of a bunch of his friends on bright green motorbikes and one of his friends on a 4x4, with him standing up on the back of the 4x4 looking like he's about to lose his balance.

the distorted picture of Ghostface on the back(?) of Iron Man where he has a gumby and looks likes he just had some exceptionally stinky sex(according to my girlfriend at the time and I tend to agree).

What's with the shoes in all the photos in the Ironman booklet? That's always perplexed me. All the photos are of Ghost, Raekwon and RZA(?) posing behind pile of two-tone Wu-Tang loafers that look perfect for a court jester's summer holiday.

jcartledge, Monday, 24 January 2005 08:31 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah and every other rhyme was about wallabees too, I dunno it might have been part of the wu-wear strategy or trying to drive the point home how he's a master stylistician(makes me wonder why he wasn't on the Wu-Wear singlejingle on High School High sdtrk, hot joint that one). Just makes it classicker anyway, I ain't hating.

I used to wonder as well, until I heard Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, where Ghost explains his unique marketing idea: two-toned shoes. ‘But it’d be like, blue and cream, knowwhatI’msayin’? Shit like that, niggas don’t even know this stuff,
word is bond, I’ma rock niggas this summer!’

BOOM YOU GOTTA DRIP IT LIKE MARBLE CAKE

Rollie Pemberton (Rollie Pemberton), Monday, 24 January 2005 19:43 (twenty-one years ago)

> wallabees

I stand partially illuminated - I always thought that was a psychogeographic reference to gangs of Australian expatriates.

> blue and cream

ha ha I forgot about that - actually it added to my mystification, if anything. Did the shoes sell?

the capital punishment pic of big pun feeling up the topless statue of liberty is quite, um, startling

Shmool McShmool (shmuel), Tuesday, 25 January 2005 04:20 (twenty-one years ago)

on that big l cover, the street sign has 'walk' and 'don't walk' lit up, that's how still he is.
