the book: It's officially out as of Tuesday, but I had to order mine, so I won't be checking it out until Forced Exposure delivers it, but needless to say I'm totally psyched. Has anyone seen it / read any of it yet?

the new album: the mp3 on the dragcity site is outstanding, natch. Let's get psyched! Come on...there's like maybe four bands your old pal Roger / Overbite gets psyched about - indulge me.

I love the Hag, but I'm skeptical on the book. His comics are almost totally unreadable (and I don't mean illegible, I mean skull-crushingly boring).

All-Night Fox has renewed my shaky faith in rock. Boogie rock for the new millennium, JJ Cale with panther stealth, blah blah blah.

Blightersrock (Da ve Segal), Friday, 28 January 2005 01:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm shaking with anticipation.
The book is out, but I don't have it yet. If it has the Big Brother diary, in which Neil writes as if he is a contestant on Big Brother 1 (American edition), it will not be boring. Skull-crushingly funny maybe, even.

By the way! Is Drag City trying to drive Hagerty fans nuts? First the impression that All Night Fox is to be cd only (the only vinyl-less release save Sweet 16, I think?) then putting the cover on the home page with "OUT NOW" written over it?
Sheeesh.

Mike Dixn (Mike Dixon), Friday, 28 January 2005 02:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Mmmm. So this Dragcity mp3 seems to be 'Centerville Springs' off the 1st limited record, extrapolated.

everyone's seen howlinghex.com by now, right?

Mike Dixn (Mike Dixon), Friday, 28 January 2005 04:11 (twenty-one years ago)

It says "CD/LP" on the upcoming thing there Mike (yay)

AndrewBT (Livvie), Friday, 28 January 2005 06:52 (twenty-one years ago)

...and it's on slsk. Stealing now...

Mike Dixn (Mike Dixon), Monday, 7 February 2005 15:54 (twenty-one years ago)

There are no guitar solos on this!
(and the most immediately satisfying track is "Pair Back Up Mass With"
(here's an mp3).

Mike Dixn (Mike Dixon), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Ooops: Here's the mp3:

the most satisfying track is one with the same Allman Bros.-type riff repeated for 3 1/2 minutes? and who's lame indie-girl voice is that?

I am disappointed. I never thought I would side with Herrema over the Hag, but almost everything on the new RTX kills this song dead.

Shakey Mo Collier, Monday, 7 February 2005 22:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Hagerty sings a lot like Roky Erickson on this.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Monday, 7 February 2005 23:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm still waiting for confirmation that one of those voices is actually his. If it is it's been sped-up or compressed in some bizarre way.
