Book of Am is the album, not the group - an assemblage of French/Spanish musicians who recorded under the name Can Am des Puig (and who claim some sort of complicated relationship with Gong). an absolutely fantastic album with few equals in the realm of obscuro psych/folk. i wish they'd hurry up witht the 2LP reissue of the complete Book of Am sessions; only Pt 1 has made it onto CD.

one year passes...
fucking amazing.
book is beautiful, both LPs are great. my favorite cut is the second to last on side 4, with all the washes of electronic/phased noise tones.

$100. it better be beautiful.

(there was a cd boot a while back that wasn't $95 - i'm pretty content with that.)

Oh, it is beautiful! I'd say it's pretty well worth it. The second disc stuff will get ripped and put on bittorent, i'm sure.

Been a huge fan of this record for a long time, but this reissue is absolutely tops, totally exceeding expectations. Definitely worth the $100.00. The 'new' second part is almost better than the first! Hats of to Wah Wah!

three years pass...

Found this randomly on a blog (while searching for info about Erkin Koray of all things) - I cannot quite make up my mind if it's hippie wibble or utter psychedelic amazingness. Or kinda both at the same time. Those long hippie folk jams of acoustic guitar and flute and a bit of sitar are just so cliched but there really are moments when it's quite magical. "I Am That Living Soul" is flat out incredible.

Grabbing the second disc of it now.

What's the book like? Looks pretty Blakeian from the few scans I can find on the interwebs.
