there's probably advice on another thread but i couldn't find it right away.

So, i decided to listen to some vinyls this morning. I quickly realised that i had an awful lot and they were just standing up sandwiched between two heavy things. But now i don't want to do that.

What's the best and easiest way i can keep these? Cardboard box?

Well, better to stack them vertically than horizontally (on top of each other). You can get sturdy flight cases for your vinyl. That's my suggestion. Protect that shit. Cardboard don't cut it.

Yeah i have been procrastinating about building shelves for a while anyway.

I always thought having them horizontal was better?

I have them stacked vertically for the time being but it was kind of making me feel ill. I was thinking about the pressure that would be on the vinyl at the bottom of the piles.

horizontally=on top of each other
vertically=side by side

ideally, stacked no more than 50 side by side - or no more than 50 without a sturdy divider of some sort. or once you see them start to slope at an angle it's time to stop adding more.
