Does that phrase ring any bells with anybody? John Peel used to play a track which had this phrase recurring through it in the late 1980's. The title of the track was (as far as I remember) "Rot Rot Rot", and the lyrics were basically a rant about consumerism. Does anyone know the name of the group?

Masters of the Obvious, a.k.a. M.O.T.O. They're still together (well, Paul Caporino and whoever's playing with him at any given time). I believe that song appears on their Single File singles comp. Great stuff.

Yep, I've got a tape of Peel playing it sometime back in 1988. I remember trying to track down an album by them back then with no luck. Great song though.

I just put some Peel recordings on Soulseek. This song's on #7. Search for "John Peel Trax".

Sorry, tried that search a couple of times and nothings coming up. What's your username and I'll try & download the folder. I would love to hear it again.

Peel played M.O.T.O., really? Back when I used to work with Jeff L. of the band Green, he used to talk about Paul, who he was friends with, and once played me a M.O.T.O. tape. I assumed he was just a local guy who made cheap tapes and gave 'em out at shows or something.

Soulseek user name is "everything". The folder is called "john peel shows". Let me know if you can't find it. I'm new to this Soulseek thing so I don't know if I'm doing it properly.

Yes, I am pretty new to the joys of Soulseek also. I would like to know if there is any way of putting in a seach for the user name of somebody (in this case "anything"), as I can't seem to track down your files (as any search I have done for "everything" seems to come up with tracks by Depeche Mode or those performed by bands whose name ends with "But The Girl").

Sorry I meant "everything" :)

neil you'll have to add him to your user list. right click in your list window and select the "Add User" option and put in the name. Then you can browse his/her files from your list.
