Totally turned me onto the group a couple years ago, despite the recording quality being utterly shit. Any opinions?

It wasn't a single as such was it? I taped it off GLR's demo clash with Gary 'The Crow' Crowley at the time. It wasn't one of my proudest moments. At the time I think I was a sucker for anything with wah-wah guitar.

It's kind of catchy, a bit too weak and schmindie though.

It's not very good really. The other song of that period that sounds like 'Barbarism Begins at Home' is better, but not by much. I remember reading that Momus gave them advice around that time along the lines of, "You should write songs that are actually about something," and I think it was good advice, & that they followed, & that, for a short time, did them well.

Yeah, just an initial run through. It's...okay. And indeed was never a single as such.

it's better than 'be my god'.

Never on a Suede album -- it was a cut that appeared before they signed to Nude. Taped in 1990 or so, played by Crowley on his Demo Clash show, formally released as such on a tape comp called What the World is Waiting For by the Powerhaus in London.

Another early song title: "The Labrador in You." But of course.
