Worse than the Manics at some stadium in Newcastle back in 98
Worse than Gomez at T in the Park
Worse than the freaking Vines for fuckssake

My mate might pay big bucks to see U2 and Bon Jovi and like bad yank rawk but this was awful. Halfway through the fucker asked us to get down and pray while covering "Hopeless". What a prick, I walked out at that moment.

And note to Jessie: Scotland is not England. So writing a song that "like, really links England to America" doesn't cut much shit in Glasgow you fucking asswipe.

What an idiot. Glad I never paid.

It's Malin, by the way.

And no "i" in Jesse.

I understand the objection, but not the vitriol. He's a perfectly nice guy.

Dude if you hate "crap Yank rock" (and have since at least 2001) why in JESUS'S NAME would you go to a god-damned JESSE MALIN show?

They let Jesse Malin out of the country? I'm sorry Scotland and (fill in all other countries on tour here).

christ, I met my ex-roommate at a Jesse Malin show. actually, he was opening for Adam Green at the time. She was there to see Jesse Malin because he was buddies with Ryan Adams, I was there to see Adam Green, we became roommates eventually. That night was wrong on every conceivable level.

Actually Jesse Malin and Jesse Camp were boys back then. No joke. Malin was on Camp's show, Rocks Off, several times. Then of course, he fellated Ryan Adams, and now with the company he keeps, no longer the don of East Village gutter rock. Truly a fall from grace.

Jesse's bar (The Black And White Bar, which i believe he co-owns with Ryan Adams) is a cool joint. I liked DGeneration and Heart Attack back in the jurassic age, but I haven't heard enough of his solo material to opine on it (though I gather its sort've singer/songwriter sorta stuff).

I'd hardly call him "Crap American rock". He may be crap. He certainly is American and he does play Rock, but he's not Crap American Rock (which conjures names like Nickelback, Creed, etc.)

His new-ish stuff is very tame and bland, and I could see how it may be mistaken for Crap American Rock, I guess.

You guys have to keep in mind that the thread-starter is someone who's concept of crap-Americanness is so slanted that he thinks vintage Axl Rose was supposed to be a big jocky thug.
