The Prince 12"/extended remixes thread

So, I want to gather a list of extended remixes/jams of Prince songs that have been released on 12" and never been officially released on CD.. or HAVE been released on CD as well but are now out of print.

I don't think Prince started doing exclusive extended versions (at least with his own stuff) until the album 1999 or so.. but at the very absolute latest Purple Rain and after.

I'm interested in these because they are distinct from their album counterparts, if they are longer than the album counterparts. No doubt many of the album versions of singles ARE the extended versions, and the EDITS are singles ("1999", for example). I'm trying to track down the opposite dynamic.

Here's what I have/know as far those exclusivd 12" remixes... there are DEFINITELY things I'm missing, so this is where you guys come in:

1984:
"Let's Go Crazy (Special Dance Mix)"
"I Would Die 4 U (Extended Version)"
"Erotic City (Dance Mix)"
[NOTE: the latter both of these have been released on a single European CD-single together, that I have, but it's not too widespread and distributed, me thinks]

1985:
"Raspberry Beret (New Mix)"
"Pop Life (Fresh Dance Mix)"
"America [Extended]"

1986:
"Kiss (Extended Version)"
"Love or Money (Extended Version)"
"Mountains" (several mixes here I think but I can't find the 12" now)
"Anotherloverholeinyohead (Extended Mix)"

1987:
"U Got The Look (Long Look)"
"Housequake (Seven Minutes MoQuake)"
"Hot Thing (Extended Version)"
"Hot Thing (Dub Version)"
"If I Was Your Girlfriend (Extended Dance Mix)"
"Shockadellica" (or was this on the Prince Hits/B-sides comp?)

1988:
"Alphabet City"
"I Wish U Were In Heaven"
and its B-side
(I can't locate the 12"s now so I don't have specific titles)

1989:
"Batdance"
"The Scandalous Sex Suite"
"Sex"
"When 2 R In Love" (or was this on the Prince Hits/B-sides comp?)
and others.. "Orion" I think..

anyway.. I lost track of the 12"s around this time..

So please fill in the holes. :D

Granted, I'm sure there are only a gazillion Prince fan websites that will provide the info too. But I want to gather these for a.. um.. specific project.

donut debonair (donut), Sunday, 13 March 2005 22:00 (twenty-one years ago)

the "I Wish U Heaven" 12" version is so so so radically different from the album version. It's like this extended suite, around 10 minutes if I remember correctly. TOTALLY ESSENTIAL. and the B-side is "Scarlet Pussy" and it's also pretty long. Way longer than the truncated version that ended up on Hits/B-Sides.

Actually most of the B-sides on the 12s are extended. lots got cut down for Hits/B-Sides. Definitely "She's Always in My Hail" and "Girl" are longer off the top of my head (although "Girl" kinda sucks and you sort of don't want it to keep going on!)

Stormy Davis (diamond), Sunday, 13 March 2005 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyone remember the 25 minute version of "America?"

maria b (maria b), Sunday, 13 March 2005 23:24 (twenty-one years ago)

It's a shame that the 12" version of "Venus De Milo" was left off of Hits/B-Sides. Ditto that w/ "Love or Money."

maria b (maria b), Sunday, 13 March 2005 23:25 (twenty-one years ago)

"Shockdelica" was also extended on vinyl and not on disc, btw.

maria b (maria b), Sunday, 13 March 2005 23:26 (twenty-one years ago)

The "Mountains" 12" goes on for 10 minutes and a few seconds, and is glorious--the big-band horn section shows up around the time the album version fades out.

25-min. "America" is not as thrilling as I hoped it'd be.

Douglas (Douglas), Monday, 14 March 2005 00:14 (twenty-one years ago)

1982: "Let's Work," somewhere around eight minutes.

The European CD single of the extended "Little Red Corvette" looks to be out of print.

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Monday, 14 March 2005 00:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I was always *highly* amused that the "I Wish U Heaven"/"Scarlet Pussy" 12-inch came out less than a year after dude put the kibosh on 'The Black Album.' Sentiments expressed on both sides would've tucked into TBA nicely. . . .

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Monday, 14 March 2005 00:26 (twenty-one years ago)

the 10-minute "Mountains" is on the T. Inskeep CD-R Go! 1986, btw.

12-inches are kind of a deaf spot for me on Prince. I like and have heard the 1999/Purple Rain ones, but fewer from Sign 'O' the Times and almost none from other albums. Obviously this needs ot be rectified pronto, O Donut Debonair with the Magical CD-Burning Equipment Cough Cough.

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Monday, 14 March 2005 00:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Dang! "Thieves in the Temple" is out of print too. Another one that radically changes the way you hear the song. How does he get from "Voices in the sky say 'Rely on your best friend to pull you through'/Even if I wanted to, I couldn't really truly 'cause my only friend is U" to "Who got the party who got the party who?"

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Monday, 14 March 2005 01:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmm, add another question mark to the end of that, or move that one to the other side of the quotes.

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Monday, 14 March 2005 01:10 (twenty-one years ago)

1985:
"Paisley Park" 12" mix, only released in europe; begins with extra two minutes of a brand new brilliant guitar solo, over nothing but loud drums and loud echoing seagulls. then the song begins, mostly in the same version.

milton parker (Jon L), Monday, 14 March 2005 01:15 (twenty-one years ago)

when is Rhino gonna get off their asses and do something about this?

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Monday, 14 March 2005 02:04 (twenty-one years ago)

After they repackage the Eagles' stuff about five more times.

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Monday, 14 March 2005 02:13 (twenty-one years ago)

grrrrr. (which reminds me actually, still need to read a certain Mr. Queen's Eagles piece here . . . .)

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Monday, 14 March 2005 02:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha. (to Rickey)

More serious attempt to answer Matos's question: when Rhino sees a time and market for a complete Prince 12" collection, I suppose... It might come later this year. Maybe well in the future. Maybe never.

Prince is very likely to protest the idea, of course, as he's wont to rewrite his history, given his new found religion and all.

I don't give a shit personally. I still want to help make this set happen, with out without any help. Rhino is very good at putting together complete, succinct box sets indeed, but I still think they wouldn't be able to pull off an absolute anal-retentive complete Prince 12" collection that I'm aiming for.

donut debonair (donut), Monday, 14 March 2005 02:24 (twenty-one years ago)

There's also another extended version of Pop Life - there's a UK version and a US version (but to complicate things, I think the US version is still the most common version available in the UK).

Extended version of "La la la, He he hee" - roughly 10 minutes long - basically Prince does a James Brown parts 1,2,3, & 4 -featuring drum breaks, sax, bass, and guitar solos. - one of my favourite 12"s

Jedmond (Jedmond), Monday, 14 March 2005 06:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Also Partyman and its b-side Feel U Up have extended versions.

While I don't like the album version of Partyman that much, I do love the extended version - especially for when Prince (in mid laughter) samples a snippet of his laughter and throws it in as part of the rhythm before casually finishing the laughter off (it makes you wonder what he might have done if he had continued along this track for one).

both extended versions of Partyman and Feel U Up are around 6 and a half minutes - and it is available on cd in a three inch version (as is the I wish U Heaven 12") - these two cds (and a couple of other 12" CDs)were released by Warner Germany - and I think they got into trouble by Warner USA for doing so.

Jedmond (Jedmond), Monday, 14 March 2005 06:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Extended "17 Days" Remix

this extended version made "17 Days" possibly my favorite Prince song.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Monday, 14 March 2005 06:54 (twenty-one years ago)

oh wow. thanks to you, I never heard this one...

the 10 minute "La La La, He He Hee" is a great one. the first three minutes, just getting started

milton parker (Jon L), Monday, 14 March 2005 10:00 (twenty-one years ago)

k-thanx, dr bill!

What's the extended version of "Housequake" like? If anyone's got it . . .

etc, Wednesday, 16 March 2005 06:31 (twenty-one years ago)

two weeks pass...
OK, I've picked up a few more Prince singles since...

I'm missing the "Arms of Orion" single.. and the "Let's Work" single that Rickey above mentioned, and the European "Paisley Park" 12" (with the extended intro).

But my goal is to make this purely an 80s collection. The remixes, as far as quantity goes, go a bit crazy (no pun intended) once Graffiti Bridge and especially Diamonds And Pearls come along.

So, this essentially starts with 1999 era extended remixes, and ends with Batman mixes and B-sides, exclusive tracks, etc.

Again, as long as it doesn't already exist exactly on an album or the Prince Hits/B-sides collection AS IS (meaning they are not the same length and versions as those on the latter collection or each album), then it's fair game.

Let's Work!

donut debonair (donut), Saturday, 2 April 2005 00:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I can digitize & gmail a 'Paisley' 12" mp3 to you sometime by next week, doing some vinyl transfers at a friend's house...

milton parker (Jon L), Saturday, 2 April 2005 00:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Nice! I want to try to find the 12" single myself (even if I have to go through gemm dot come or equivalent) just for my own Prince completist/compulsive disorder, but in the mean time, hurrah! :)

donut debonair (donut), Saturday, 2 April 2005 00:47 (twenty-one years ago)

My advice would be at least to listen to the Thieves in the Temple 12" - and then decide when to finish the box set - it just seems sad to have one of Prince's best 12"s missing due to an arbitary cut off date - would it really kill you to have all of Prince's 80's 12"s + Thieves in the Temple (and maybe Gett Off 12").

Sorry, in a sooky mood today.

Jedmond (Jedmond), Sunday, 3 April 2005 10:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, I'm repeating myself, but: "Thieves" rules.

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Sunday, 3 April 2005 22:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Fine fine.. but I'm not putting all 11 mixes of "Gett Off" on this..
I want to sequence each song once on the set, then have an "extra disc" of the secondary remixes and stuff like that.. (like the Dub mix of "U Got The Look", maybe the second best mix of "Gett Off", etc.)

I just picked up the "Glam Slam" 12"... DAMN, this is far far better than the album counterpart!

donut debonair (donut), Sunday, 3 April 2005 22:17 (twenty-one years ago)

(and, technically, 1990 is the 80s, blah blah etc etc exclexior)

donut debonair (donut), Monday, 4 April 2005 05:43 (twenty-one years ago)

A couple of years ago I found this set of 12" singles posted on a newsgroup.

None were MP3s, all are uncompressed. Of course I downloaded it. 3CDs of the 12" singles.

Donut I didn't read this thread carefully to see which of these you want or might want. So look it over.

Anyone who wants a set of these can email me:

[email protected]

Or maybe if it's easier we can gmail tracks back and forth.

I have to get ready for work, soon, but I will ask you for questions about these later tonight... I think some of these are on the Hits/B-sides comp, but there are some things I don't recognize.

I'll put together my list tonight (if possible), and compare & contrast..

Donut Bitch and everyone else, here is the info file from when I got the set on the Internets. The dude also made jpegs to use as inserts. To those who have emailed me, I'll be sending discs out in the next few days.

Prince 12" Archive V.2.0

There are SIX discs covering everything from the rare 94 east 12"s up to the latest "The Greatest Romance Ever Sold" Promo 12". I have remastered most of the tracks that were on the original issue of this set with some tweaks here and there and as you'll note, I added SEVERAL tracks to the discs making it THE definitive collection of rare 12" singles out to date, spread them out in chronological order, and did a darn good job making this set sound better than ANY other set that has previously been tossed out there by a fan OR official release!

This collection took me several years to complete as I took the upmost care in manually going in and editing out all pops, clicks, and noise from the previous mastering jobs. Drawing out each and every click rather than using plug ins which kill attacks of vital sounds.

don, is that your real e-mail address? if so, I will email you.

(Picked up the European "Paisley Park" 12" and "Partyman" 12" last night! I'm getting there.)

donut debonair (donut), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 19:17 (twenty-one years ago)

For the record (no pun intended), I plan to re-digitize anything vinyl only and digitally remaster this entire collection I'll be working on.. but I think there will certainly be stuff on these CDs that I would never dream of finding that I'll need. So, YEAH, please Don.. I'm very interested in this collection.

donut debonair (donut), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 19:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Does anyone have CD-single copies of:

"The Future", "Partyman", "N.P.G.", and "Thieves In The Temple"?

I would love to talk to you.

Now to find that alternate "Pop Life" 12".. I just have the one with the Fresh Dance Mix and "Hello" as the B-side.

donut debonair (donut), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 19:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Donut, I have "Thieves" on CD.

though i may be off the mark here .. need to dig in the archive and check ...

scrap that - tis the maxi cd for Get Wild .. soz.

mark e (mark e), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 20:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't know if this qualifies as a 12", but the mix of "P-Control" on Crystal Ball with the gospel choir singing, "Pussy/PUSSY/PUSSY!!!/Pussy Control" is fanfuckingtastic.

Naive Teen Idol (Naive Teen Idol), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 21:26 (twenty-one years ago)

At this point, I'll consider anything up to and including the Diamonds And Pearls era singles..

I just want to avoid sagging this down with seven remixes of "Gett Off", or whenever Prince singles became mini-albums themselves. Of course, I don't have to include all of them anyway... so that's fine.

donut debonair (donut), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)

thing is, some of these extended mixes aren't even that good. as in, I'll always skip over them. Why does the completist in me want one of each despite this? (and it's not like Prince is the only musician who's compelled me to collect non-album tracks. what is my problem, exactly?)

don weiner, Wednesday, 6 April 2005 22:58 (twenty-one years ago)

so much stuff on disc 1 I'd never heard... one serious long indebted thanks and bar tab upon SF visit

milton parker (Jon L), Wednesday, 4 May 2005 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, this collection, whoever put it together, did a REMARKABLE job, and don deserves just as much credit for endlessly sending copies to folks as well. It really trumped what I wanted to do.

I still want to put together something, but it will basically just be removing the B-sides that already appeared on The Hits/The B-sides comp, resequencing the tracks, and maybe adding a few that are missing like "Thieves In The Temple" remixe(s) or what not.

But I'm in complete awe. WHat makes this even greater is that I found a sealed copy of the Minneapolis East sessions bootleg album, containing the earliest stuff on disc 1.

donut debonair (donut), Wednesday, 4 May 2005 17:44 (twenty-one years ago)

two months pass...
I haven't forgotten about this!

In fact, I've been collecting a lot of CD-singles outside the range of the original track listing.. the Batman era CD-singles, "New Power Generation" (from Graffiti Bridge), "Thieves in The Temple", "7", "Cream", "Gett Off".. also that 94 East 2CD; and I've occasionally lucked out in finding those German CD-singles of the extended mixes of the 80s hits... (they're impossible to find online, but I luck into them at stores for cheap occasionally.)

I realize I'm being extra anal about this, and I don't plan to get EVERY single ever made by Prince before I commence re-tracking this, as the initial thing Don sent sounds good enough. But I do plan to remove any straggling pops and clicks (which do exist, but rarely) or replace such tracks with the CD versions... I also plan to remaster and renormalize them.. and resequence everything such that there's a master extended track listing, following a "alternate mixes" track listing. This is going to be much bigger than I want this project to be, even with most of the hardest work done already.. but I am working on it, and I haven't forgotten!

Thomas, if that's your real email address, let me know, of if not give me a google proof one here, and I'll contact you directly... no, it's not done yet... :( But, with grand thanks to Don, I have much of the source material, so if you're looking for a song or two, then I could certainly help.

((((((DOPplur)))n)))u))))tttt (donut), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 20:08 (twenty years ago)

It is; feel free to contact me directly. (Spammers will get blocked, blah blah blah.)

Also, do interested parties know that the much-bandied-about Ultimate Prince comp, with one disc of nothing but extended/12" mixes, did in fact come out this spring, albeit only in Australia? I know the price being asked for is ABSURD, but I can't find a for-sale listing anywhere else online. Got mine at a Virgin Megastore (but even their website doesn't list it) for about $30 US. Don't have the tracklisting handy or I'd share it.

Thomas Inskeep (submeat), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 20:32 (twenty years ago)

Thomas Inskeep (submeat), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 20:39 (twenty years ago)

this is available at Virgin Megastore in NYC, fairly cheap too, which makes me think it got a U.S. release.

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Thursday, 25 May 2006 01:16 (twenty years ago)

Rhino sent it to me, so I assume it did.

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Thursday, 25 May 2006 05:31 (twenty years ago)

Any copies in the U.S. are reportedly Australian imports. But I could be wrong.

Thomas Inskeep (submeat), Thursday, 25 May 2006 20:42 (twenty years ago)

Mine's a promo, but it does have the FBI thing on the back. Possible they serviced it but never put it in stores . . .

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Thursday, 25 May 2006 22:05 (twenty years ago)

I hate it when I find out about promos I missed. Especially from Rhino.

I think I'm going to cry. I just wish I could get only the non-album versions. This bodes well for the chances of future Prince remasters, amirite?

The future of Rodney got a -- (R. J. Greene), Sunday, 20 August 2006 05:59 (nineteen years ago)

my Prince fanatic friend has shared a bunch of extended mixes with me lately. my favorites so far are the 10-minute version of "I Would Die 4 U" and the 13-minute version of "17 Days."

Alex in Baltimore (Alex in Baltimore), Sunday, 20 August 2006 07:16 (nineteen years ago)

Your friend is a good man and should share with all of us. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 20 August 2006 12:33 (nineteen years ago)

Indeed.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn (Alfred Soto), Sunday, 20 August 2006 12:52 (nineteen years ago)

It is indeed very exciting that these are remastered. A comprehenive extended version box set would be perfection, but probably too much to ask. But what has been remastered now? Just this and "The Very Best of Prince"?

Can someone tell me what in god's name is the reason for the "Housequake" 12" not being on here?

Naive Teen Idol (Naive Teen Idol), Wednesday, 11 October 2006 16:34 (nineteen years ago)

You should post god's name on the blog and ask then.

And yes, this full project is on the backburner still. Apologies to you all. I still have the masters (with eternal thanks to don)... reason being: Ultimate came out, which should satiate some of the 12" mix desires for the masses now.

The extended "Raspberry Beret" is just ok.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Saturday, 18 August 2007 01:44 (eighteen years ago)

the extended "Raspberry Beret" is one of the better ones. strange things happen to the upper string harmonies when the phased piano changes the basic key of the song, and the downsampled groans are bizarre.

one year passes...

So I downloaded and listened to the Dance Mix of "Little Red Corvette" here: http://boogiebanger.blogspot.com/2009/01/prince-little-red-corvette-dance-remix.html

I have this version on the Ultimate Prince cds but I was also pretty sure I had it on 12" as well. Because I'm at work I can't look to be sure I looked it up on Discogs because I knew if I saw the cover of the 12" I would know if I had it. But there is not picture posted: http://www.discogs.com/Prince-Little-Red-Corvette-Lady-Cab-Driver/release/98982

In continuing my search I checked the cached page of the now disabled Housequake (thanks so much Prince) and the Little Red Corvette single page would seem to indicate that the only US 12" release was promos only: http://74.125.47.132/search?q=cache:UfX8JujTq2IJ:www.housequake.com/view.php%3Fs%3D%26pg%3Ddiscography_singles_prince_little_red_corvette+Prince+-+Little+Red+Corvette+12%22&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=4&gl=us&client=firefox-a. I know I don't have the promo, but I thought I had the normal US 12". So can anyone post a picture (or just describe it) of the regular US 12" release of Little Red Corvette. Cause if somehow I don't have it, I've got some work to do!

matt2, Monday, 2 February 2009 18:01 (seventeen years ago)

You're right. There isn't one. Promo only.

If Timi Yuro would be still alive, most other singers could shut up, Monday, 2 February 2009 23:35 (seventeen years ago)

Any clue what this thing listed on Discogs is then: http://www.discogs.com/Prince-Little-Red-Corvette-Lady-Cab-Driver/release/98982

It says it's a US release and 14 people seem to thing they own it.

Just wanted to say this is the thread that got me to meet Rickey Wright, and how we eventually become friends. Very important thread in my life, this one.

(as for the project, well, don't hold your breath. that's all I can say. sorry.)

She Is Beyond Food In Weevil (Mackro Mackro), Monday, 23 March 2009 20:58 (seventeen years ago)

seven years pass...

I just acquired the super-expensive 3 inch CD single of "Glam Slam", and after several years I think I finally own pretty much every 12 inch version / extended remix of Prince a single up until 1995 (i.e. until The Gold Experience). In case someone else will ever go on the same crazy mission, I've compiled a list of the singles that have an extended version or a remix different from the album version, and whether you can acquire them on digital format, or whether they're only available on vinyl... So here you go:

1982
Let's Work (Long Version aka Dance Remix) - this is available on CD on the "Ultimate" comp.

Little Red Corvette (Dance Mix) - this is available on CD on the "Ultimate" comp.

1984
Let's Go Crazy (Special Dance Mix) - this is available on CD on the "Ultimate" comp.

I Would Die 4 U (Extended Version) - this is available on CD as the B side of the German "Erotic City" single.

1985
Raspberry Beret (New Mix aka Extended Remix) - this is available on CD on the "Ultimate" comp.

Pop Life (Fresh Dance Mix) - this is available on CD on the "Ultimate" comp.

America (12" Version) - AFAIK this is only available on the 12" vinyl single.

Paisley Park (Remix) - AFAIK this is only available on the 12" vinyl single.

1986
Kiss (Extended Version) - this is available on CD as a German single, or on the "Ultimate" comp.

Mountains (Extended Version) - AFAIK this is only available on the 12" vinyl single.

Anotherloverholenyohead (Extended Version) - AFAIK this is only available on the 12" vinyl single.

1987
U Got The Look (Long Look) - this is available on CD on the "Ultimate" comp.

Hot Thing (Extended Remix) - this is available on CD on the "Ultimate" comp.

1988
Alphabet St. (This Is Not Music, This Is A Trip) - this is available on CD on the German 3" single.

Glam Slam (Remix) - this is available on CD on the German 3" single.

I Wish U Heaven (Part 1, 2 & 3) - this is available on CD on the European 3" single.

1989
Batdance (The Batmix) / Batdance (Vicki Vale Mix) - these are available on CD on the [https://www.discogs.com/Prince-Batdance/release/110563]European 3" single[/url].

Partyman (The Purple Party Mix) / Partyman (Partyman Music Mix) / Partyman (The Video Mix) - these are available on CD on the [https://www.discogs.com/Prince-Partyman-Remixes/release/738338]European 3" single[/url]. If you want just the Video Mix with the longer version of "Feel U Up", you can also get this 3" single.

Scandalous (The Scandalous Sex Suite) - this is available on CD as multiple different versions.

The Future (Remix) / Electric Chair (Remix) - these are available on CD on the European single.

1990
Prince - New Power Generation (Funky Weapon Remix) - this is available on CD on multiple different versions of the single. Do note, however, that not all of the CD singles include the various other remixes of the tune. The German and American maxi singles have them, so I'd recommend getting one of those.

Thieves In The Temple (Remix) - this is available on CD on the "Ultimate" comp, or on American maxi single. The maxi also includes the awesome house remix, so I recommend getting that even if you have the comp.

1991
Cream (N.P.G. Mix) - this is available on CD on the "Ultimate" comp, as well as on [https://www.discogs.com/Prince-And-The-New-Power-Generation-Cream/master/97247]multiple different versions of the single[/url]. Do note, however, that not all of the CD singles include the various other remixes of the tune. The [https://www.discogs.com/Prince-And-The-New-Power-Generation-Cream-Remixes/release/983609]European[/url] and https://www.discogs.com/Prince-And-The-New-Power-Generation-Cream/release/571899]American[/url] maxi singles have them, some other might too.

Gett Off (Extended Remix) - this is available on CD on [https://www.discogs.com/Prince-Gett-off/master/97252]multiple different versions of the single[/url]. Do note, however, that not all of the CD singles include the various other remixes of the tune. The [https://www.discogs.com/Prince-And-The-New-Power-Generation-Gett-Off/release/110559]European[/url] maxi has them, some others might too.

1992
My Name Is Prince (Extended Remix) - This, alongside other remixes of the tune, is available on multiple versions of the single.

Sexy M.F. (12" Remix) - for some reason this isn't on the actual "Sexy M.F." single, but it can be found on the American and European maxi versions of "My Name Is Prince".

7 (After 6 Long Version) / 7 (Acoustic Version) - these are available on [https://www.discogs.com/Prince-And-New-Power-Generation-7/master/97256]multiple versions of the single[/url].

1994
Space - several remixes are available on the American and Canadian maxi singles.

Letitgo - several remixes are available on the various maxi versions of the single.

The Beautiful Experience - this is an EP full of various remixes of "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World", plus a single version of the tune that's a bit different from the version that would appear the next year on The Gold Experience. (The remixes are mostly quite housey and pretty good, the EP is one of the more successful attempts of doing house mixes of Prince.) Several versions exist. Do note though, that the actual single of "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" has a different cover and includes only one remix, so don't get that, if you want all the mixes.

1995
Eye Hate U (Extended Remix) - this, alongside other mixes, is available on [Removed Illegal Link]. The other version of "Eye Hate U" are fairly unremarkable, so I'd recommend just getting "Gold", as you also get a nice non-album B-side called "Rock And Roll Is Alive! (And It Lives in Minneapolis)" with it.

Tuomas, Thursday, 19 May 2016 19:25 (ten years ago)

Whoops, that last link to "Gold" didn't work for some reason, here it is. There are some other BBCode typos in my post as well, but I think you'll get it.
