Wow, this is perfect fluff, like a refined "Don't You Want Me?" for 21st-century college dweebs or a better-realized Future Bible Heroes.

You realize that you're the millionth person to make that "Don't You Want Me?" comparison, right?

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 22:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Still, I like the song!

I really like that new b-side.

Interested parties may also want to track down a multitude of male/female Figurine duets that Jimmy Tamborello worked on before the Postal Service, including "Rewind", "IMpossible", "Our Game (Is Over)", and "So Futuristic", all from The Heartfelt.

i think i've played the styrofoam remix of it to death. seriously probably my current favoritest song

"i swear i'll do my best to comply"

great stuff that by all rights i should hate

rentboy (rentboy), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 22:11 (twenty-one years ago)

what's the styrofoam mix on?

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 22:14 (twenty-one years ago)

i have a cd rip with four tracks, that being one of them... i'm not at home so can't say at the moment, but will try to remember to do so later.

I haven't read any reviews of it. I assumed that the band was doing a deliberate tribute/emulation themselves so probably lots of people had made comparisons but I honestly hadn't realized there had been that much comment about this track. I don't have any great love for "Don't You Want Me" FWIW.

(I don't really keep up with indie-pop or its criticism. I heard these guys at a party and liked the electronic sounds so I downloaded their stuff.)

The only PS song I have the patience for is "Brand New Colony."

"what's the styrofoam mix on?"

The CD single for "We Will Become Silhouettes" (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00079Z9V4/qid=1111032447/sr=2-2/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_2/102-5684610-0564140"

I'm going to go ahead and say that despite being a huge fan of both Matthew Dear and Styrofoam, their remixes on the "Silhouettes" CDS are among the worst things they've had a hand in. I was really excited for both of them, and then I got the promo, and... eh. Styrofoam, for one, did a much better job on things like his American Analog Set remix.
