I'm watching the rerun of today's 106 & Park right now waiting for them to premiere her new video, though (this makes me sound like an Ashanti fanboy but I'll usually keep the show on until the premiere of the day regardless of what it is)

I don't have cable when I'm at home so i can't see rap city OR 106 and Park any more which kind of sucks. I'm also on a 56k modem which really sucks. I like college. Anyway, what do you think of the new rap city host? I think he's a snooze.

yeah Mad Linx is horrible. not even a snooze, I can barely watch him. I mean Tigga was kinda goofy and the whole 'bassment' vibe was kinda fake but it was ten times better than this corny dude and the slick new set.

new Ashanti song is aight! might grow on me. I still think the premise of this thread is weird and slightly suspect, though. I mean it's not that common to make threads just to announce talk show appearances of mainstream artists that ILM isn't particularly fond of, is it?

Huh? I thought "Only U" had, like, changed people's minds or something. I donno, I was interested in hearing her perform it, I don't think I'm that far off of what ILM likes am I? If people like Teedra Moses (which they did, judging from that thread) might like her new stuff.

Where I come from we call those "thunderthighs."

I thought the dance didn't really fit the song well. The guitar solo was sort of neat. She could have done a lot less with a song like that, physically I mean, its the sort of epic thing she could just sort of stand there making knowing looks and it would be more regal instead of like an ill-fitting dance routine.

For some reason I have spanish language captions that can't be removed from my TV set and at the end before Jay even said anything it had JAY: MUY AGRADABLE so I guess he liked it.

I've seen her perform that song on TV at least a couple other times and it's always the same (except for the top, which never goes well with the shorts). she's really poor at lip syncing convincingly.

I guess my final answer to the "suspect" question is "I'm bored."

She's half-lip syncing and half singing, right? Like her voice cut in and out and she'd do little acrobatic things but then she'd bend over and it'd get a bit quieter.
