VIC MACKEY (nordicskilla), Friday, 18 March 2005 16:14 (twenty-one years ago)

New single out this week, a good one too.

JoB (JoB), Friday, 18 March 2005 17:04 (twenty-one years ago)

ooooh (I am emailing you, JoB)

VIC MACKEY (nordicskilla), Friday, 18 March 2005 17:18 (twenty-one years ago)

You do that, I can not hook you up with a free copy of my shiny black vinyl 12 inch RECORD!

JoB (JoB), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:07 (twenty-one years ago)

For which I paid real MONEY!

JoB (JoB), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I've heard about those, but I don't have a gramophone.

VIC MACKEY (nordicskilla), Friday, 18 March 2005 18:09 (twenty-one years ago)

love this remix compilation

willem (willem), Sunday, 6 November 2005 21:42 (twenty years ago)

the wighnomy's are definitely one of my favourites

carrey degeneres seinfeld (Cozen), Sunday, 6 November 2005 21:55 (twenty years ago)

Wow! Didn't even know that existed.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Sunday, 6 November 2005 21:55 (twenty years ago)

me neither! bought it today. it's excellent.

it contains two "exclusives":
Namusouke - "Survive" (Robag's Trainingslager Remix), unlike anything else on the compilation. a dubby dancehall chanting track, or something. i had to readjust my ears so to speak. it's fun though.
Robag Wruhme - "Robag's Bobb Für F." which is totally amazing on first listen. a hyperkinetic robot playing a digital djembe provides the propulsive pace, electronic trickeries and a spacious feel do the rest.
there's also a short "enhanced cd" track which i haven't checked yet.

Remikks Potpourri is killing me lately, more so than most of the remixes did on an individual level. It seems to be the definitie WB/RW statement, even more so than Wuzzebudd. Amazing to listen to on headphones too.

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Saturday, 3 December 2005 10:12 (twenty years ago)

remikks is pretty good if you focus on the music! lots of stuff to listen to. (that's all i will say on the matter, this is a love thread after all)

Yawn (Wintermute), Saturday, 3 December 2005 10:28 (twenty years ago)

temp ta shun

ah!

fandango (fandango), Saturday, 3 December 2005 16:00 (twenty years ago)

i have a musik krause t-shirt. the hedgehog logo always elicits a reaction whenever i wear it. maybe it's a WTF reaction, but i like to think it's because hedgehogs are cool. 2005 was a big year for these guys huh? still haven't heard the comp, but wuzzelbud kk is something i still pull out and listen to. the 3 fascmisch EP is one of my favorite things from this year. also (even though it's from 2004), "wurz + blosse"! some of those WB singles are ace too (the ones that sample busta rhymes and underworld OMG)

tricky (disco stu), Saturday, 3 December 2005 16:43 (twenty years ago)

http://3headz.de/radio/prelisten/e_index.shtml#record_20051101_wighnomybros

ha, I love the introductions! I get the feeling the guy reading the titles is taking the piss out of the vocal "six, this wo-o-o-rld" :-D

manuel (manuel), Friday, 30 December 2005 18:23 (twenty years ago)

not sure of the singles that sample busta and underworld, but a friend overseas just mailed me remikks potpourri, which is deliriously crunchy, charlie-horsed, and twitching. they even do drooly downtempo stuff well (see Kristall Elbe 1).

last hour of their set at fabric last saturday was phenomenal - don't have a clue what any of it was though

cherry blossom, Thursday, 7 May 2009 14:34 (seventeen years ago)

Found "Wombat" used yesterday (along with a Robag Alter-Ego remix) :)

They are so so fun DJ's though.

Edward Saroyan, Thursday, 7 May 2009 15:31 (seventeen years ago)

Had a lot of fun dancing to them at the weekend. I was soo tired by the time they were on though that I took a momentary rest on by the DJ booth and Robag gestured that I go home to sleep. Embarrasing!

mmmm, Thursday, 7 May 2009 19:27 (seventeen years ago)

four weeks pass...

excited about seeing them tonight in SF!

the table is the table, Saturday, 6 June 2009 17:26 (seventeen years ago)

i'll be there! gonna be a looong night.

one time, Saturday, 6 June 2009 19:29 (seventeen years ago)

yeah...i'm spending most of today reading and relaxing in preparation for copious drinking before getting to the End-Up....early, cuz i am much too poor to afford a $20 cover.

the table is the table, Saturday, 6 June 2009 19:54 (seventeen years ago)

These guys were surprisingly good at DEMF.

pipecock, Sunday, 7 June 2009 02:11 (seventeen years ago)

if you missed them last night....i would go to Sunset today if I were you...

mikebee (BATTAGS), Sunday, 7 June 2009 20:41 (seventeen years ago)

fucking killed it last night...AND they even played that mysterious track that we have been trying to ID. i would love an ID for that fucking track, it is so ill.

the table is the table, Monday, 8 June 2009 00:37 (seventeen years ago)

new Robag Wruhme album is sounding pretty rad upon first listen.

promo? when will it be out?

Fuck me this new Robag Wruhme album is BEAUTIFUL.

Matt DC, Thursday, 19 May 2011 18:36 (fifteen years ago)

It's quite comtemplative, if thats a word. Listening to it reminded me of him from the Speaking In Code documentary.

mmmm, Thursday, 19 May 2011 19:03 (fifteen years ago)

Robag was the best thing about that documentary.

brotherlovesdub, Thursday, 19 May 2011 20:20 (fifteen years ago)

I see what you mean but I loved the David? guy. Before then I don't think I could imagine someone so excited by techno/house. He was very entertaining.

mmmm, Thursday, 19 May 2011 21:06 (fifteen years ago)

it really is a gorgeous record. my friend was in my car yesterday and it came on, and she was like, "what IS this? it's so beautiful!"

my review of it is probably the only review i've ever written that i haven't gotten some flak for.

whenever the vein was to throb (the table is the table), Thursday, 19 May 2011 21:39 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah top five of the year for me I reckon. Love the disembodied voices throughout.

Sad news, I still have fond, formative memories of seeing the wighnomy bros close out mutek 2007, watching them have so much fun.

ed.b, Tuesday, 17 September 2024 23:04 (one year ago)

i don't think i've ever seen DJs have as much fun as those two. very sad to hear.

stirmonster, Wednesday, 18 September 2024 00:02 (one year ago)

RIP. Never got to see Wighnomy Bros spin live but dude looked so damn joyful in every photo of their sets.
