I'm looking for stuff like (french act) Telepopmusik. you know, loungy, smooth, very european(or cosmopolitan if you want) music sung by a jazzy sounding female vocalist. accoustomed with a a touch of electronic sounds, of course. does anyone know what kind of music I'm talking about? if you do, please recommend me something.

The answer is yes. I have been feeling quite bland lately.

Keren Ann or Feist might do the trick.

Feist and Antenna are both great. I'm downloading Zero 7 right now...

It's no lady singer, but I have a feeling you might like I, Lucifer by The Real Tuesday Weld.

Try Ada and Nouvelle Vague if you haven't already.

Certain Swayzak tracks work, I'm thinking of "Make Up Your Mind". Also Herbert Bodily Functions and maybe Lali Puna.

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 00:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd say yes to all. The Jazzanova 2 disc remixes thing is awesome. I've always thought of it as brazilian flavored micro-funk.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 00:15 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe Bebel Gilberto - Tanto Tempo

Lingbertt, Tuesday, 22 March 2005 00:22 (twenty-one years ago)

The Hotel Costes mix CDs are great if only slightly less "electronic". 1-6 are great.

A big thanks to all you beautiful people. I've downloaded alot of your recommendations and shall listen to them later tonight. I'll be drinking hot chocolate too.

Lovelace (Lovelace), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 22:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Best of Hotel Costes is actually the best Hotel Costes.

Maybe also try Fish Go Deep-Lili Hand (I think it's called)

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 22:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Try Herbert's Bodily Functions album, which is all that you're asking for and more. "It's Only" is a standout track. What else? Maybe even "The Three Ws" from the Matthew Herbert Big Band album, sung by the gorgeous Mara Carlyle.

Salvador Saca (Mr. Xolotl), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 01:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Try the first Goldfrapp album, Felt Mountain. Second one is great too but is more electroglam stomp rather than torch song chill out.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 01:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll fourth or fifth or whatever we're at now Bodily Functions.

Also, Luomo - The Present Lover
