if i was you my head would be exploding with indecision. though i have heard juan is an amazing dj from friends in LA. the last time they saw him he played spacey tracky headfuck detroit techno (suburban knight style) gradually shading into jazzier UR-type material.

phil-two (phil-two), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 06:37 (twenty-one years ago)

phil, April 10 there is an 10,000 person trance/techno party on the waterfront in Odaiba Y2000 9am - 9pm. Carl Craig, Ken Ishii and Miss Kitten are playing on the house/techno stage. If the weather is nice and you don't mind Japanese hippies, it might be a nice day.

That party is called Nagisa Music Festival.

Holy shit, I have to go to that sounds from germany thing. gotta think of an excuse to be in tokyo for work that week...

Saw Juan play once at Lost, but I was pretty out of it and don't remember much about his set, except that Derrick May blew him out of the water that night. I think he's pretty kind of reverential - like he sticks to the "classics" a lot.

Jacob (Jacob), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 09:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry I'll be missing you this w/e, J, may be around end of april/start of may. Does your hotmail work? Will e you if I'm going to be around...

Also - do you have any contact details for tokyo club owners? Cos Logan Sama wants to play here, and if we work pull as many strings as possible we might be able to engineer it...

Jacob (Jacob), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 09:05 (twenty-one years ago)

phil-two, Jacob, others in Tokyo, but especially phil-two who is at a loose end:

there is a party on April 8 at Soft from 9 pm till ??? (first train at 5 am mostly likely) 1500 yen on the door.

Line up:

Raita
Takumi spinning a Detroit flavor
Renny Foster [futago traxx][soire][primate]
Gravity Terminal [from San Francisco] tracks
Shane Berry [live set]
Debroglie [live]

This event is organized by different folk than the Softly Softly parties, but will hopefully have a similiar friendly vibe. All are welcome!
