Albums with more than one cover

The only two I can think of right now are Mary Margaret O'Hara's Miss America with two covers (the first beige one with the calligraphy on it being largely superior) and the Wipers Youth of America. Which exists in three different covers I think. I guess I prefer the original one with the fucked up comic characters around the map of the U.S. which was used in the box set. By the way who are them? Of the six I can only identify Popeye, Mickey Mouse and Superman. Obviously I don't know shit about comics.

Slave to the Thrill by Hurricane inna Spinal Tap stylee first had the cover on the left, then went with the cover on the right, for relatively predictable reasons.

The characature (sp?) of Angus & Bon was the original Aussie cover, I believe. I always thought the second cover looked rather deceptively "New Wave"-ish.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 19:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Yep, "Propeller" by Guided By Voices, 500 copies, all with different covers, some made by up schoolchildren Robert Pollard used to teach

Dadrock Holmes (Dada), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 19:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I just think it's very funny and charming and tongue in cheek. (Like Bon.) Something they should've done more often.

Tori Amos's Strange Little Girls was released with 4 different covers, representing 4 of the songs (you probably know about the whole concept behind it which involved Tori dressing up as a different girl for each cover). Oddly I can find 5 covers online, maybe there were differences between countries. In order - 'Strange Little Girl', 'Raining Blood', 'Happiness Is A Warm Gun', 'Time', 'I Don't Like Mondays'.

The first Fountains of Wayne album was originally issued with stock photo of a boy wearing a cape and holding a rabbit. As it turned out, another band, a UK group called Flamingos, used the same picture for their record. So, FOW used a different cover in the UK.
