Mr. Harvey Weinstein (mr harvey weinstein), Friday, 25 March 2005 03:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Is RZA not making hip hop anymore??

Johnny Badlees (crispssssss), Friday, 25 March 2005 03:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I was almost going to go to bed and the I saw this!

La Monte (La Monte), Friday, 25 March 2005 03:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I found the Ozzy interview last night to be a bit of a let down.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 25 March 2005 03:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah I'm psyched for this. The book was great. RZA and Jon Stewart?? I like to see two smart, intelligent people on TV every now and then.

Johnny Badlees (crispssssss), Friday, 25 March 2005 03:32 (twenty-one years ago)

They're smart AND intelligent?!

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 25 March 2005 03:33 (twenty-one years ago)

haha I meant funny

Johnny Badlees (crispssssss), Friday, 25 March 2005 03:34 (twenty-one years ago)

TS: Smart vs Intelligent

Silky Sensor (sexyDancer), Friday, 25 March 2005 03:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I found the Ozzy interview last night to be a bit of a let down.

It was better than the one on Conan, I thought. But really, dude's brain is mush, our expectations shouldn't be too high.

Ian John50n (orion), Friday, 25 March 2005 03:40 (twenty-one years ago)

haha mr. weinstein otm

special guest appearance, Friday, 25 March 2005 03:40 (twenty-one years ago)

But really, dude's brain is mush, our expectations shouldn't be too high

I've read decent interviews with him before, and I think Stewart just spent too much time on the whole dumb reality show thing. It's a trap. He's obviously a bit of a fan, he's got some respect for Ozzy, he could have thrown him some more interesting questions. That's the thing with Stewart though, on the nights you think he'll pull on out of the bag, he phones it in. Did anyone see the Al Green interview? That was just plain funny. Am psyched for RZA, my TiVo is recording it as we speak.

VegemiteGrrl (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 25 March 2005 04:05 (twenty-one years ago)

...and by "funny" I meant weird. Sad? Strange? Something. But it would appear that the Reverend's brain is much further down the road to Mushville than Ozzy's.

VegemiteGrrl (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 25 March 2005 04:09 (twenty-one years ago)

slush

Silky Sensor (sexyDancer), Friday, 25 March 2005 04:28 (twenty-one years ago)

terri schiavo's brain is 60% liquid.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 25 March 2005 04:29 (twenty-one years ago)

The RZA interview was pretty good.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Friday, 25 March 2005 04:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Nothing amazing or anything, but maybe 40% less condescending than most late night interviews with rappers.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Friday, 25 March 2005 04:31 (twenty-one years ago)

It sucks that it ended with a lame joke about porky pig tattoos.

Ian John50n (orion), Friday, 25 March 2005 04:33 (twenty-one years ago)

60% liquid, 40% less condescending than most late night interviews with rappers.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 25 March 2005 04:34 (twenty-one years ago)

That interview was just useless trivia for nerds. He should have Jay-Z on to discuss black capitalism.

walter kranz (walterkranz), Friday, 25 March 2005 04:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought it was pretty good. I mean he drew RZA out, he didn't sound like a freakshow, it was interesting, etc. It might be old hat to you guys, but I'll wager there's a ton of people who watch the Daily Show who know who RZA is, who know who the Wu-Tang are, but were never very interested. They might be now. Shrug. Just a thought.

VegemiteGrrl (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 25 March 2005 04:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, it was totally geared towards a general audience, and was fine at that.

I love Conan O'Brien, but he's totally embarassing whenever he has to interview anyone remotely related to rap. Jon Stewart is way better about this.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Friday, 25 March 2005 04:46 (twenty-one years ago)

But really, dude's brain is mush, our expectations shouldn't be too high.

I thought he was shockingly coherent (for him). But Stewart's constant harping on the "BUT WTF HAPPENS WHEN THE CAMERA GUYS GO HOME??!!?!" issue pretty much killed the interview.

RZA comes on in a few minutes (here).

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Friday, 25 March 2005 05:16 (twenty-one years ago)

last night letterman asked p. diddy what hip-hop was.

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 25 March 2005 05:52 (twenty-one years ago)

BTW, I was only joking if that wasn't apparent.

walter kranz (walterkranz), Friday, 25 March 2005 07:16 (twenty-one years ago)

what's that picture?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 25 March 2005 07:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Zed Szetlian (Finn MacCool), Friday, 25 March 2005 17:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I was chatting on aim with my mom today:

mom: Did you watch The Daily Show last night?
me: yeah
mom: That guy was pretty interesting.
me: the rza?
mom: Yes.

At this point it took EVERYTHING I HAD not to type "Wu-Tang clan ain't nuthin to fuck with!" Instead I said, yeah, wu-tang clan are a good group.

teeny (teeny), Friday, 25 March 2005 23:56 (twenty-one years ago)

"last night letterman asked p. diddy what hip-hop was."

I'm curious to know what he answered.

phil jones (interstar), Friday, 25 March 2005 23:59 (twenty-one years ago)
