Did War's "Low Rider" nick from the bass riff of Roxy Music's "Remake Remodel"?

Well?

Low Rider was '75, Roxy '72.

They're not really that alike. They both have an ascending pattern but "Low Rider"'s bassline is more rhythmically complex and funky, while "Remake/Remodel"'s is 16 equal length notes played on the beat. Also "LR" makes it up a whole octave while "R/R" doesn't.

I think WAR went into the future.. stole the bass riff from the Thompson Twins "Lies", then went BACK to their original time.

BUT... then Roxy Music ALSO went into the future to steal the riff from WAR after that, and then themselves went back to THEIR time.

That is a perfectly satisfactory answer, Donut. Thanks.
