Why no soundtrack album for The Shining?

This has been bothering me for a while- why is there no soundtrack album for Kubrick's The Shining? Is there any (affordable) place to get Carlos' synthesized Bartok score on CD or vinyl or, hell, tape? 8-track? I am going crazy here. Even Barry Lyndon has an easily obtainable CD version, for crying out loud...

Of course, the answer may just be "there isn't enough of it to fill out an album," which is entirely possible since I haven't seen the movie in over five years and my memory is a bit fuzzy, but I figured someone here would know...

_The Shining_ - the score

I'd quite like the score to Picnic at Hanging Rock to finally get a release on compact disc.

And why wasn't there a soundtrack album to go with Scorcese's After Hours, goddammit!

Who did After Hours?

The score? No idea, but I find it hypnotic. There's also a clutch of great doo wop tunes (from the Terminal Bar scene) and even "Pay to Cum" by the Bad Brains.

Oh, and...
