Wonder Records & Promotions will hold its very first mini-festival at Bush Hall (310 Uxbridge Road, London W12 7LJ, T: 020 8222 6955, F: 020 8222 6638, www.bushhallmusic.com) on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 April, providing a unique chance to attend all-too-rare live London performances by some of the most influential independent artists of the past two decades.
Stuart Moxham, leader of the Young Marble Giants, will present material from the classic ‘Colossal Youth’ album as well as preview songs from his forthcoming release, ‘The Huddle House’…Bertrand Burgalat, the driving force behind the Tricatel label, and one of France’s most revered contemporary producers and arrangers (Laibach, Mick Harvey, April March and many others) will perform a solo set of his piano compositions…Louis Philippe, accompanied by long-time collaborators, Danny Manners and David Longdon, will preview his new album, ‘The Wonder Of It All’, and re-visit some of his él records past…Sean O’Hagan, on his own on Friday, will be joined by his High Llamas on Saturday.
Doors open at 7:30 – First act on stage at 8pm. Tickets are on sale at the venue and through Ticketweb (www.ticketweb.co.uk), at the price of £14.00 per evening/£20 for weekend pass. Early booking advisable.

I was going to go to the Saturday show with a bunch of friends as a big four-oh birthday special affair. But then I got an offer to go abroad instead. So, sadly, I will miss it.
I assumed Moxham would just be duetting with Philippe. I'm especially gutted now that I see he'll do some YMG stuff too. Also quite keen to hear what Bertrand is up to at the moment. So report back afterwards on this thread, why don't cha.

agreed, Moxham's quite nice. i wrote a story about YMG recently and he sent me a really nice thank you email after somehow tracking the piece down on the net.
