...and I like one of them so much that I listen to it obsessively and neglect the others. Recently this has happened with:

Clouddead - Clouddead
Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - The Doldrums
LCD Soundsystem - LCD Soundsystem
X - Wild Gift

What albums are like this for you?

I hate buying more than one album at a time because I have this compulsive thing where I want to give each new purchase a fair share of attention at first, so I have to alternate them and never listen to one twice in a row without listening to the others first. and I basically make myself stay in that pattern until it's been a week or two and I forget when I listened to what and I can stop worrying about it.

No, I mean those four are the albums I obsessed over. I bought them all separately with other albums, but those are the four that I listened to so much I didn't give the others any attention.

Ohhhh, yeah they are worthy of obsessing, clouddead's a classic and i thinks LCD is too and the others are fantastic too.

How can you be sure at the time of purchase? I'd rather buy a bunch of albums at once and never listen to some of them than buy one album at a time and give it my full undivided attention before buying something else.

Thats funny, I lost track of a Jeweled Antler comp I bought with other things and then came back to it ages later and couldn't take it out of the machine (though would skip a few tracks).

I find buying more than 2 records means i stick them all in and shuffle in order to get a taste of everything all at once, then miss out on all of them. its like eating a whole box of chocolates in 20 minutes.

The fraggin' Bloc Party record took over for the whole last week after my biggest shopping trip of the year (Decemberists, Out Hud, MIA, Prefuse, QOTSA, Devin Davis, at least 3 others that I can't ). I NEVER listen to discs even twice in a row, but got hooked by this one.
