i doubt there's any sampling in that track. it sounds like some hubert laws or herbie mann type shit (although i doubt it's the later, he wasn't usually that funky). it sounds like it's on CTI by the production and orchestration. and i bet he just reinterpreted a Moricone soundtrack for that bit.
