Still haven't heard it yet, though.

I picked this up having not heard a single note off of it, but couldn't help thinking that a sleeve like this couldn't possibly contain a boring album.

I was right, of course.

Oh, are the album covers in this thread required to have made you buy them without ever having HEARD of the band?

donut debonair (donut), Thursday, 31 March 2005 21:56 (twenty-one years ago)

(..because I was already a Poppies fan when I got this... my brain was still captured by the album cover though.)

While I'd heard of the band via a friend of mine who apparently knew and had a crush on one of them, i'd never heard or seen what they'd looked/sounded like until I spotted this album in a shop. Given my friend's tastes, I'd assumed they were some schmaltzey celtic pop act. Once I saw the cover, not only was I convinced that this was not to be the case, but I HAD TO TO HEAR IT!.....and it was magnificent.

Classic spooky, menacing BOC album cover, just like in the olden days, this hinted at the exciting prospect of the best Cult LP in a decade. (Wrong, oh so wrong.)

Had I not known of them already I stil would've bought Starry Crowns' debut EP for the cover alone:

I pretty much started listening to B12 all because of seeing the cover to Time Tourists. That and Claro by Brothomstates.
