I'd say classic. Yet another list, but sort of the ultimate list of lists.
It also has several other advantages besides summing lots of lists:
- The all time list is a Top 2000, reaching a bit beyond the typical "Pet Sounds"'s and "Revolver"'s.
- using only critics lists means there is room for some typical critical favourites riding high in the lists in addition to the usual popular choices, and there are certainly gems to be found out there, gems that the man on the street never noticed
- New albums are incorporated into the list relatively quickly. That way, you may already see how this year's Low album is doing among the all-time albums.

So certainly a classic site for me. Thanks for a great site Henrik (I know you post on ILM from time to time) :-)

Hmm. Nobody has an opinion on this?

Classic -- I never noticed some of those albums!

Some decent ones in the archive like the guardian, wire and mojo lists. Otherwise utter soulsucking crap.

Oh, to be fair it also linked me to this site http://home.austarnet.com.au/petersykes/jazz100/index.html
which is great for someone like me.

Geir,

Many thanks for your support!

Classic, no question. 'utter soulsucking crap' tho? That is something I question.

i mean, based on an assessment of acclaimed music, a list of music lists from diverse sources, being crap - how is the philosophy of the site much different than 2/3 of the threads on ILM?

Obviously there are albums in the 2000 that are "utter soulsucking crap". I would expect to find several of them on the Wire list though ;)
