is this song actually called broken drum? looking at boc's bit on warp records' site it sees that they remixed a song called blank space. is it the same thing? info for the ignorant please!

yeah, you're right, i just listened to the original broken drum and this ain't it. don't trust mp3 tags, kids.

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 31 March 2005 22:46 (twenty-one years ago)

but he says "broken drum" in the song?

cutty (mcutt), Thursday, 31 March 2005 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

i just got the double disc version of the new beck album.
it says "Broken Drum (Boards of Canada Remix).
plus there's a remix of "Hell Yes" by dizzee rascal titled "Fax Machine Anthem"

Beck, in an interview with Clash Magazine from early 2005, mentioned that he had the group Boards of Canada remix a song. They remixed "Outerspace," and according to Beck.com, the remix was to be titled "Blank Space." However, since "Outerspace" changed names to "Broken Drum," this remix is no longer called "Blank Space." It is just simply "Broken Drum (Boards of Canada remix)."

well there you go.

that dizzee rascal remix, btw, is some stinky meat with a side of weaksauce.

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 31 March 2005 23:23 (twenty-one years ago)

is it really?....i haven't listened to it yet

Aerodynamic (Aerodynamic), Thursday, 31 March 2005 23:34 (twenty-one years ago)

the beat itself isn't bad at all, but it's, you know, beck over top.

BoC need to just go ahead and to a remix album, and it needs to be mostly hip hop. Their CLOUDDEAD, Beck and Boom Bip remixes are all fucking great.

That "Girl" remix is good though.

Eppy (Eppy), Friday, 1 April 2005 14:40 (twenty-one years ago)

i adore this. i suggest driving home in the rain to it.

btw, there's some BOC promo thing out (with one track on it?) called "would you like to play?". it doesn't take any chances, but it's nice.

jermaine (jnoble), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 13:42 (twenty-one years ago)

oh, and it might be a fake.

jermaine (jnoble), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 13:43 (twenty-one years ago)

five months pass...
This song is so gorgeous. I think it's one of Beck's best moments.

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Thursday, 8 September 2005 20:57 (twenty years ago)
