pre77 Kraftwerk-> 77+ Moroder-> 77+ Kraftwerk-> 82+ Hip-Hop
Maybe you're suggesting Timbaland, Neptunes, et al are revisting Moroder more than other Hip-Hop/R&B/Rap acts?
I personally think the whole thing is a result of sampling becoming too costly, which brings it full circle by doodling on keyboards again.

Sure, but furthermore that Moroder is an unsung power that can be heard behind 50% of pop radio.
I imagine him as the Wizard behind the curtain...

but not d&b and jungle. Remember that interview with him back in like '97 or so when someone suggested the influence and he was like "I don't know nothing about no bass and drum... drum and bass, whatever."

I don't know whether or not Tim's familiar with Moroder; my suggestion was (and is) that Moroder's work and remarkable sound (perhaps most specifically with Donna Summer) paved the way for him.
