Honestly, I don't think I've heard a great one since Dawali. That recent Bad Gal Riddim was terrible..

Dancehall Rock riddim is pretty great as well.

And I'm checking out this Bionic Ras stuff now.

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Saturday, 7 May 2005 01:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Wow this is sick.

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Saturday, 7 May 2005 01:57 (twenty-one years ago)

speaking of south rakkas, red alert was sick too.

vahid (vahid), Saturday, 7 May 2005 02:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm listening to Ragga x 3 '03, getting drunk, and cleaning my apartment. A winner is ME.

Jordan (Jordan), Saturday, 7 May 2005 04:05 (twenty-one years ago)

i loved red alert!

s1ocki (slutsky), Saturday, 7 May 2005 04:32 (twenty-one years ago)

my local library has in their collection exactly two (2) dancehall cds, which are dual copies of the Punanny Rhythm Album on Greensleeves!

Amon (eman), Saturday, 7 May 2005 05:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Bionic ras is just diwali in reverse (rather with the second half of the phrase first), right?

Jordan (Jordan), Saturday, 7 May 2005 14:52 (twenty-one years ago)

"OUT and BAD" should've been the riddim name of that twin/avenue d. track but if its what they're calling this spacey glistening synthsquealy thing that's okay too.

put "counterfeit" and "forbidden dance" together and you've got slinky mystery elegance that tops the "drop it like it's hot" remix (or egyptian riddim for that matter!)(tho alone they're merely good, maybe i've yet to hear the definitive versioning)

"no tampering" sounds promising too..

jermaine (jnoble), Sunday, 8 May 2005 22:16 (twenty-one years ago)

If you like bionic ras (and who doesn't?), you'll probably like i-rob too. Bubble Up's not bad.

sleng teng resurrection is predictable but great.

baboon2004 (baboon2004), Sunday, 8 May 2005 22:29 (twenty-one years ago)

"giggy" and "cool fusion" (esp the sizzla cut, 'all is well') are also sounding good right now. oh, and you also need akon and kardinal over "kopa". curious to hear "hit the road jack", "messer banzini" and "raybeez" riddims.

jermaine (jnoble), Sunday, 8 May 2005 23:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Cool Fusion's been around since late 2003 though. But yeah "All Is Well" was one of my favourite tracks from that year.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Sunday, 8 May 2005 23:57 (twenty-one years ago)

i thought i'd heard cool fusion before, at least in name, but i wondered if this wasn't a cool fusion 2 or something, or if the old one wasnt 'cold fusion' etc

jermaine (jnoble), Monday, 9 May 2005 09:05 (twenty-one years ago)

chico's "need for yu man" (on 'naked gaza') interpolates "hava nagilah"!

jermaine (jnoble), Saturday, 14 May 2005 08:28 (twenty-one years ago)

and "messer banzini" is really fun i think. "ivan" riddim sounds a bit like dancehall gone hyphy.

jermaine (jnoble), Saturday, 14 May 2005 08:44 (twenty-one years ago)

iron, bionic ras, sweet dreams, fowl fight, forbidden dance, wash pan, sleepy dog...
no, i guess it's been pretty rubbish and quiet lately!

stelfox, Saturday, 14 May 2005 10:34 (twenty-one years ago)

meant irob, obviously

stelfox, Saturday, 14 May 2005 10:35 (twenty-one years ago)

How about that copa riddim?

JoB (JoB), Saturday, 14 May 2005 11:41 (twenty-one years ago)

two months pass...

Hey what's happening

jergins (jergins), Monday, 1 August 2005 05:57 (twenty years ago)

Hey what's happening

sleng teng's STILL happening.

stirmonster (stirmonster), Monday, 1 August 2005 07:39 (twenty years ago)

two years pass...

I'm really in love with the Inevitable Riddim. "Straight Happiness" by Aidonia on that riddim is one of my favourite tunes this year.
