louis xiv - "finding out true love is blind"

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 9 May 2005 07:25 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe it's Darkraver - 'Komtie dan hè', but that's so bad it gets brilliant.

'Candy Shop' irritates the hell out of me oh and that Bravery song. yikes

rizzx (rizzx), Monday, 9 May 2005 07:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Alice (5) likes that "BangBang" song, and she's not been wrong for a lonng time.

Well, not since Westlife, but she was three so give her a break!!!

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 9 May 2005 07:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Has to be "Robot Rock", I'm afraid.

mike t-diva (mike t-diva), Monday, 9 May 2005 08:23 (twenty-one years ago)

HOWARD OUT OF THE HALIFAX AD, PEOPLE

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Monday, 9 May 2005 08:27 (twenty-one years ago)

'Bang Bang' is pretty bad but I'll go for Akon's 'Lonely', Weezer's 'Beverley Hills' or any song by any band that sounds like music began with Green Day for them only they never managed to capture quite the same 'edge' as their idols. that R Kelly one is terrible but saved by actually being quite funny in addition.

and i must warn all of you now about the new System Of A Down single if you haven't already heard it: just...astounding...

$V£N! (blueski), Monday, 9 May 2005 08:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Huh? I've just been congratulating myself on my broad-mindedness for actually liking the new System Of A Down single. Well, it sounded good on the way to work...

mike t-diva (mike t-diva), Monday, 9 May 2005 09:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I was just gonna say that "System Of A Down" single myself.

HS

hector savage, Monday, 9 May 2005 10:00 (twenty-one years ago)

That SOAD single is brilliant you ingrates.

Have Art Brut had a single out?

DJ Mencap0))), Monday, 9 May 2005 11:17 (twenty-one years ago)

The worst single of the year in the UK is also this weeks number one (Akon - lonely). People are stupid.

dmun, Monday, 9 May 2005 11:20 (twenty-one years ago)

yea the soad single is fun.

mariah's "it's like that" is the worst.

cindy margolis holocaust (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 9 May 2005 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Is the 'Down song "Cigaro"? I quite like that one.

Lyla is pretty bad.

Chewshabadoo (Chewshabadoo), Monday, 9 May 2005 11:24 (twenty-one years ago)

yeh 'Lyla' is in the top 5.

$V£N! (blueski), Monday, 9 May 2005 11:44 (twenty-one years ago)

That Jennifer Lopez single that sounds like a fuckin' car alarm.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 9 May 2005 12:03 (twenty-one years ago)

this post makes me glad I don't listen to the radio.

vanessa novaeris (novaeris), Monday, 9 May 2005 12:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Anything connected with downloadable mobile ringtones.

The Irrelevant Man (Negativa) (Barima), Monday, 9 May 2005 12:32 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah i think Lyla has upset me the most. it's so ungainly and agitating.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 9 May 2005 12:32 (twenty-one years ago)

"l,y,l,a, lyla..."

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 9 May 2005 12:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 9 May 2005 12:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I should listen to the radio more, I suppose.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 9 May 2005 12:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Top 5 Goes Like This In No Order Of Dissapointment.

Weezer - Beverly Hills
Garbage - Why Do You Love Me?
Daft Punk - Robot Rock
Beck - E-pro (Guero would have been much, much better)
And according to lots of you:
Oasis - Lyla

elgolfo (elgolfo), Monday, 9 May 2005 12:50 (twenty-one years ago)

weezer, weezer, weezer.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Monday, 9 May 2005 14:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Either "Meester Lonely" or "Magic Candy Stick Shop."

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Monday, 9 May 2005 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Xpost you know, I do believe I avoided actually hearing that one. I heared a demo, that was enough.

Did the Ozzy one ever happen?

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 9 May 2005 15:10 (twenty-one years ago)

that new foo fighters crap of a cut is one big stink

ZionTrain (ZionTrain), Monday, 9 May 2005 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm really, really disappointed by the new Backstreet Boys single.

Alfred Soto (Alfred Soto), Monday, 9 May 2005 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

"Robot Rock" was my personal dissapointment, but man, that Candy Shop thing has reverted Hip-Pop back to the days of Master P.

Love that new Backstreet single though.

PappaWheelie (PappaWheelie), Monday, 9 May 2005 15:54 (twenty-one years ago)

"American Baby" Dave Matthews

miccio (miccio), Monday, 9 May 2005 16:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Most bad: Straylight Run - "Existentialism on Prom Night"
Most ridiculous: Eminem - "Mockingbird"
Most disappointing: New Order - "Krafty"

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Monday, 9 May 2005 17:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Second "Mr. Lonely."

brianiac (briania), Monday, 9 May 2005 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Mr. Lonely becomes my favorite song ever when i'm sufficiently sloshed.

deej., Monday, 9 May 2005 18:04 (twenty-one years ago)

The Foo Fighters single is pretty miserable. It tries so hard, that's what gets me.

daria g (daria g), Monday, 9 May 2005 18:13 (twenty-one years ago)

"E-Pro" isn't that bad.

billstevejim (billstevejim), Monday, 9 May 2005 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

That Jennifer Lopez single that sounds like a fuckin' car alarm.

I hate the Ludacris song that sounds like a car alarm worse, although the Lopez one is pretty bad.

billstevejim (billstevejim), Monday, 9 May 2005 18:47 (twenty-one years ago)

"Number One Spot" is great!! I like it more each time I hear it.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 9 May 2005 18:47 (twenty-one years ago)

The J-Lo one makes my ears bleed. The Mr. Lonely one has a camp appeal to it.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Monday, 9 May 2005 18:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Alex In NYC so OTM. somebody on another thread said it would have been better if they had given it to Beyonce instead, but i suspect it would have been worse: two mid-frequency squalls (or two car alarms, if you will) fighting for your attention.

Dave M. (rotten03), Monday, 9 May 2005 19:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Most Unnecessary of Year: the remake of "Listen to Your Heart" that lacks all the vocal range and dramaturgy of the Roxette original.

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Monday, 9 May 2005 19:19 (twenty-one years ago)

fuckin' Il Divo!

Simon H. (Simon H.), Monday, 9 May 2005 19:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Trillville "Some Cut"

Al (sitcom), Monday, 9 May 2005 19:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Gwen Stefani "Hollaback Girl"

Al (sitcom), Monday, 9 May 2005 19:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Gwen Stefani "Rich Girl"

Al (sitcom), Monday, 9 May 2005 19:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Jennifer Lopez f/ Fat Joe "Hold You Down"

Al (sitcom), Monday, 9 May 2005 19:49 (twenty-one years ago)

"Rich Girl" and "Candy Shop" both depress the hell out of me. Not in a way that provokes any strong reaction, I mean just straight up grey, boring, blah, music completely sucks. Gwen Stefani is so stupid and untalented. But the video for "Candy Shop" is pretty much the nadir I think. They're bored, I'm bored, everyone's bored.

daria g (daria g), Monday, 9 May 2005 19:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Most Unnecessary of Year: the remake of "Listen to Your Heart" that lacks all the vocal range and dramaturgy of the Roxette original.

I cannot even fathom this.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 9 May 2005 20:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Missy Elliott "On & On"

Al (sitcom), Monday, 9 May 2005 20:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Probably some pointless and extremely childish Hungarian or Czech Eurodisco single which

1. I have yet to hear by now, although it is about to become a hit in Eastern Europe
2. Will become a hit in Spain and Greece around June/July
3. Will consequently cross over to all European countries and stay on the European charts until mid November, having topped the charts for 8-10 weeks.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Monday, 9 May 2005 20:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Amerie "Touch"

Al (sitcom), Monday, 9 May 2005 20:27 (twenty-one years ago)

i've grown to love 'Candy Shop'. it's no worse than 'Milkshake' really is it.

$V£N! (blueski), Monday, 9 May 2005 20:57 (twenty-one years ago)

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 9 May 2005 21:01 (twenty-one years ago)

strng hlkngtn, Monday, 9 May 2005 21:03 (twenty-one years ago)

The Raveonettes 'Ode To LA' is up there for pure lack of originality. Or am I missing something special about it sounding like it stepped off the radio circa '63.
Akon is rotten too.
There are so many it hurts.

JJAGB (JJAGB), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 18:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Hot Hot Heat "Goodnight Goodnight"

Al (sitcom), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 18:05 (twenty-one years ago)

The new one that mashes up the Crazy frog ringtone with Axel F is a shit and potato pie...

...And anyone who spends more than 10 seconds of their life even thinking about what their ringtone sounds like can fuck themselves to death with vegetables.

Kris England, Tuesday, 10 May 2005 18:13 (twenty-one years ago)

that reminds me, I gotta get a "Regulate" ringtone when I finally buy a cell.

miccio (miccio), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Gotta go with "Lyla." It really is one of the worst songs I've ever heard in my life.

Mr. Snrub (Mr. Snrub), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 18:32 (twenty-one years ago)

it's not like a blockbuster song or anything but that supersystem song "born into the world" is god-awful. if you're going to steal from african guitar pop, don't rip off the crappy paris soulless synthoid "shaking the tree"-type pablum.

naturemorte, Tuesday, 10 May 2005 18:40 (twenty-one years ago)

"Gwen Stefani is so stupid and untalented"

O.T.M. X 100

eedd, Tuesday, 10 May 2005 19:52 (twenty-one years ago)

i've grown to love 'Candy Shop'. it's no worse than 'Milkshake' really is it.

OMG X 1000. "Candy Shop" is a vacuum of soullessness. "Milkshake" brings all the boys to the yard.

Deric W. Haircare (Deric W. Haircare), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 21:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Missy Elliott "On & On"

No way.
