David Bowie: died late 1980, shot by a crazed fan as he performed Elephant Man on Broadway.

Frank White, Monday, 9 May 2005 13:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Freddie Mercury should've died on stage at the end of Bohemian Rhapsody.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 9 May 2005 13:12 (twenty-one years ago)

GG Allin. Always claimed he was going to, but OD'd instead. Boring. He threatened to shove a stick of dynamite up his ass, light it and run into the crowd, takin' a few folks with him, which would have been.....of course....competely brilliant.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 9 May 2005 13:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Robbie Williams

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Monday, 9 May 2005 13:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Phil Collins should have crashed his helicopter into the stage during Live Aid.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 9 May 2005 13:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I keep saying this but -- assume Mr. Chapman got Lennon and Lydon confused and Mr. PiL was gunned down after the group's American Bandstand performance. The cult levels around him now would be indescribable.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 May 2005 13:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd have let Lydon put out the Album album, then I'd have taken him out.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 9 May 2005 13:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll allow his ghost to create that from beyond the grave.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 May 2005 13:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know why I keep thinking Lionel Ritchie, but I feel like I have to post it so I can move on.

diedre mousedropping and a quarter (Dave225), Monday, 9 May 2005 13:24 (twenty-one years ago)

deservedly, right?

peter smith (plsmith), Monday, 9 May 2005 13:25 (twenty-one years ago)

shit - i was responding to ned's first.

peter smith (plsmith), Monday, 9 May 2005 13:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I've long suggested that the world would be a better, saner, more respectable place had Kiss all died sometime just prior to the recording of Unmasked (I used to temper that statement replacing Unmasked with Dynasy, but Dynasty did have some great moments. The same cannot really be said for Unmasked).

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 9 May 2005 13:29 (twenty-one years ago)

i've often been ashamed of the tears i forgot to shed when aerosmith were burn crispy in 1981 in a backstage anteroom.

or maybe im just aprehensive about enjoying a future without more of that.

and if izzy had knifed axl in 1991 i might have enjoyed it, but i'd still have to hear those songs in bars too often.

b b, Monday, 9 May 2005 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Ryan Adams, sometime last year.

You know I'm right.

Raymond Cummings (Raymond Cummings), Monday, 9 May 2005 14:31 (twenty-one years ago)

James Hetfield in that burning in Canada incident.

elgolfo (elgolfo), Monday, 9 May 2005 14:33 (twenty-one years ago)

mj on the cola commercial when his hair caught fire.
Second on GG.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Monday, 9 May 2005 14:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Ashlee Simpson should have elf-jigged over to a shorted connection and lit up like a Christmas tree while her band kept playing.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Monday, 9 May 2005 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

That Boa Constrictor she wore around her neck should have crushed Britney SPears during the MTV Video Awards a couple years back.

kornrulez6969 (TCBeing), Monday, 9 May 2005 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

All those bouncing/flying dancers should have collided and crushed P Diddy to death at the MTV Awards, too.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Monday, 9 May 2005 15:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Daffy Duck. Oh wait.

Ken L (Ken L), Monday, 9 May 2005 15:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Uh, how did Brian Wilson outsurvive Carl?

PappaWheelie (PappaWheelie), Monday, 9 May 2005 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Certainly he wouldn't have deserved it, but in 1990, when that lighting unit or PA or whatever fell on Curtis Mayfield, that should have been the end of him.

Jay Watts III (jaywatts), Monday, 9 May 2005 17:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmm. James Hetfield? Yeees...

"My lifestyle. Determines my deathsleurrrrrgh..."

Ben Dot (1977), Monday, 9 May 2005 20:21 (twenty-one years ago)

It would have been way more spectacular if Varg Vikernes had actually killed his bandmate onstage during a Mayhem gig, rather than killing him in some Oslo backstreet with nobody watching.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Monday, 9 May 2005 20:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Bill Hicks... Jay Z... Ronnie James Dio (during an Ozzy concert circa Diary)

Bobby Peru (Bobby Peru), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 03:14 (twenty-one years ago)

GG Allin. Always claimed he was going to, but OD'd instead. Boring. He threatened to shove a stick of dynamite up his ass, light it and run into the crowd, takin' a few folks with him, which would have been.....of course....competely brilliant.

Hahaha

buck van morrison (Buck Van Smack), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 03:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Stiv Bators.
Being hit by a bus was just too ignominous.

Orbit (Orbit), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 03:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Jackie Wilson, to spare him those 10 years in a coma/hospital.

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 05:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Joseph more OTM than anybody else yet.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 09:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Come on Geir, Williams needs to die.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 10:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Not at all. He is the only ex-boyband member who has actually started making respectable music later in his career, abandoning the sugar coated balladry of Take That, and releasing some truly great Britpop stuff instead.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 10:29 (twenty-one years ago)

No he deserves death precisely for that reason, that and the grin.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 10:31 (twenty-one years ago)
