Do you own, or have you ever owned, the Beavis & Butthead Experience Volume I?

Notable, at the moment anyway, for the Chili Peppers' cover of "Search & Destroy" and Nirvana's "I Hate Myself And Want To Die."

I had a promo copy once. It is, I believe, long gone.

My copy was, again, a cassette dub that's rotting in my tape bin now. I taped an insane number of records and comps off a dude I was in chorus with in high school (who looked, disarmingly, like the singer from Bowling For Soup on the "Almost" video) who somehow happened to own every piece of alt-rock music that I wanted to hear but couldn't be arsed to buy myself. By college he's morphed from a hateful rich-kid spazz into a jersey-wearing, ebonics-spouting wigger. I still can't get over that.

I've since sold it to SecondSpin.COm, but Anthrax's cover of "Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun" (by the Beasties) was entertaining.

this was an xmas present to me about 12 years ago. i don't have it anymore, either.

BTW, the Nirvana track is still exclusive to the B&B album. The take on the box set is from an earlier, non-Albini session.

I still own this album. I even got Mike Judge to sign it, so it's not going anywhere.

best skits ever

Josh (Josh), Monday, 9 May 2005 17:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Those guys were pretty freaking insightful MFs. I remember Butthead commenting on how bored Pavement looked in one of their videos. I don't think Pavement rocked enough for either of them.

I owned the Do America soundtrack.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Monday, 9 May 2005 17:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Those guys were pretty freaking insightful MFs.

Much like the majority of things that disappeared at the end of the 90's, we need them a lot more today.

The Run DMC track and skit are both very timely and entertaining, IMO.

billstevejim (billstevejim), Monday, 9 May 2005 18:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I owned this. I have no idea what the hell happened to it.

And yeah, for being complete morons, Beavis And Butthead often had some intruiging and foresightful positions. They hated Korn before it was cool to for all the reasons that people gave 5 years later.
