mr. flugel is one of the greatest producers techno has and will hopefully not be remembered just for the novelty hits 'rocker' and 'geht's noch'.

Gary from this year, and the accompanying remixes are excellent. Ditto Transphormer from 2004 or therabouts.
I actually heard Rocker again the other day and it really hasn't aged well in comparison to a lot of other 2004-era electrohouse. Something to do with not having a proper kick drum, perhaps.

Alter Ego's 1990s output is mostly quite good, especially Decoding the Hacker Myth from 1996. It's a perfect midpoint between early 90s German trance, electro, and IDM (the sort of IDM that's melodic and pretty and not wanky at all). When I first heard "Rocker" I thought it must be by some other Alter Ego, because these guys had pretty much disappeared for so many years, and "Rocker" didn't really sound like the 90s Alter Ego.

According to discogs.com Decoding the Hacker Myth was reissued in 2006, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a copy.
