Can you sing it for us?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 12 May 2005 09:14 (twenty-one years ago)

A little. Not sure - it's very evocative of 'heritage'.

marcello - no.

sven - explain yourself.

Things that come to mind when I hear it:

Observatories (this is because of the album title though)
Rolling fields of the Home Counties
Corridors filled with portraits of Tudors
Hampton Court
Rain stopping play

You might even say it's the 'Little Britain' it's okay to like. I'd much rather listen to 'Johnny Maastricht' though.

interesting thoughts, steve. but i never thought of this tune as being particularly british.

well it reminds me a lot of 'Canon & Gigue in D' is what i really mean.

or is it Bach?

$V£N! (blueski), Thursday, 12 May 2005 09:36 (twenty-one years ago)

not Kano?

I love this song apart from the clipped noises that come in every so often. Don't tell me they were intentional! Royal Astronomy is my favourite µ-ziq album and is way way underrated, especially compared to Lunatic Harness which to my ears is like a really messy sounding Aphex rip off.

Bluff Limbo is one of my favourite albums by anybody.

I really like - is it "Dance 2" on Bluff Limbo with the really thumping 4/4 beat that sounds like Vitalic?

dog latin (dog latin), Thursday, 12 May 2005 10:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Yep.
