I didn't even know about the Plant until now. Has anyone heard it? Allmusic says it's the same band as Dreamland, which interests me, but suggests that it's more overtly Zeppelinesque, which might not be a good thing.

I'm looking forward to the Oneida.

New stuff I want to know about includes Petra Haden/Bill Frisell, Dave Douglas, and Otomo Yoshihide.

there's a Q&A with Plant in the current Rolling Stone that makes his record sound kinda interesting.

Definitely buy Spoon. Refer to the thread on Gimme Fiction for tons of other recommendations for it. I've spun it at least 20 times since buying it this Tuesday, and I still love it.

Shining--In the Kingdom of Kitsch You Will Be a Monster

this isnt the sort of thing I generally go for but I was pleasantly surprised - I really enjoyed it! its fun in a geeky sort of way - I dont know for some reason it reminded me of star wars? so I'd say go for it but Im out of my mind right now so you may just want to ignore everything I just said haha finals are EATING MY BRAIN!

shining and spoon seconded and the one architecture in helsinki track I have heard sounded like an improvement upon most of the stuff on fingers crossed which means that it was pretty good IMO.

Boredoms--Seadrum
is pretty much wonderful. i have to dig up my copy..thanks for the reminder.

the currituck co. record has wonderful and gorgeous moments or raga-sih picking and noise and plays out well on the whole. its a bit long at 2 discs, but a multi-disc player handles that well
