terminal viagra >> terminal cheesecake

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Friday, 13 May 2005 09:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Now there was a band! From a time when music WAS music!

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 13 May 2005 09:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Music is certainly fine enough in 2005, even though the best stuff does rarely hit the charts (particularly not the singles ones) anymore.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Friday, 13 May 2005 09:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Faith Evans "Again" is a nice song. R&B is so good this year.

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Friday, 13 May 2005 10:12 (twenty-one years ago)

no, but seriously...

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 13 May 2005 10:12 (twenty-one years ago)

R&B is great every year.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 13 May 2005 10:21 (twenty-one years ago)

So is music generally, come to think about it.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 13 May 2005 10:22 (twenty-one years ago)

R&B is overrated every year.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 13 May 2005 10:44 (twenty-one years ago)

except by non r & b fans

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 13 May 2005 11:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Real R&B is Fats Domino and Bo Diddley, who could have done with less rhythmical accenting but at least retained some traces of melody in their "songs." Now it is just bang bang, bling Cristal fuck fuck, and no wonder people end up happy slapping innocent bystanders because this is what this evil noise inspires the lower orders to do.

i dig it. you've got teenage crimewave pop and psychedelic madness in the underground. what's not too love?

doomie x, Friday, 13 May 2005 11:18 (twenty-one years ago)

happy slapping:

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 13 May 2005 11:19 (twenty-one years ago)

I do not find pouting prostitutes with drip feed mouths attractive, thank you very much.

Comstock Carabinieri (nostudium), Friday, 13 May 2005 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah but thats you - you old curmudgeon

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 13 May 2005 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

fuck i forgot to log out

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Friday, 13 May 2005 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Bang Bang, Bling Cristal Fuck Fuck

I have just found the name of my new band...an R&B band. Playing Fats Domino, Ike Turner and the Rhythm Kings, and Do Diddley covers.

Big Loud Mountain Ape (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Friday, 13 May 2005 12:20 (twenty-one years ago)

2005 is great. I really hated 2004, fyi.

billstevejim (billstevejim), Friday, 13 May 2005 22:11 (twenty-one years ago)

except by non r & b fans

What soulless beast does not consider his or herself an R&B fan?!

deej., Friday, 13 May 2005 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Luckily, there's more to 2005 music than R&B. If not, then music would have been dead.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Friday, 13 May 2005 22:35 (twenty-one years ago)

please fall in a hole

jones (actual), Friday, 13 May 2005 22:39 (twenty-one years ago)

i thought this would be a jack rabid thread.

keith m (keithmcl), Saturday, 14 May 2005 00:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Geir, if you've figured everything out, why post?

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Saturday, 14 May 2005 00:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I know, dumb question.

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Saturday, 14 May 2005 00:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I pondered this conundrum with him ten years ago, Lethal. Accept the fact that he is now there in your life for you. Forever.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 14 May 2005 01:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Perhaps if we could find a R&B group that was composed of four white guys that played guitars and were influenced by the Beatles, Geir would give them a chance. Oh wait, that's probably going to be a bit difficult...

John Justen (johnjusten), Saturday, 14 May 2005 03:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Have we figured out if this Comstock guy is a genetic experiment involving Geir and a pitbull? He's a little more vicious but definitely on the same tip.

mike h. (mike h.), Saturday, 14 May 2005 03:49 (twenty-one years ago)

we can figure out a lot by looking at 'show all details', which he surely knows and apparently wants.

Josh (Josh), Saturday, 14 May 2005 08:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Music is certainly fine enough in 2005, even though the best stuff does rarely hit the charts

Oh yeah: Tori Alamaze. :-(

nathalie's baby (stevie nixed), Saturday, 14 May 2005 08:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Have we figured out if this Comstock guy is a genetic experiment involving Geir and a pitbull? He's a little more vicious but definitely on the same tip.

Geir is a genuine eccentric - occasionally a little frustrating in his single-mindedness, but harmless enough. Comstock is just an angry little troll, and a bit of a one trick pony at that.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Saturday, 14 May 2005 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Perhaps if we could find a R&B group that was composed of four white guys that played guitars and were influenced by the Beatles, Geir would give them a chance.

I would be a lot more likely to give them a chance if they were a group composed of four black guys, playing a style of music that was mainly influenced by The Beatles, English Music Hall and European classical music from the 18th and 19th century.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Saturday, 14 May 2005 22:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Here you go Geir:

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Saturday, 14 May 2005 22:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Comstock is Marcello taking the piss out of Geirism surely.

Tom (Groke), Sunday, 15 May 2005 08:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Comstock is Marcello taking the piss out of Geirism surely.

He probably would have been directly rascist, which none of Comstock's comments have been.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Sunday, 15 May 2005 15:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Someone explain the concept of "rascism" please.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Monday, 16 May 2005 05:45 (twenty-one years ago)

To return to the thread topic...I'm actually liking 2005 so far..I seem to be finding more great new albums than I did the last couple of years.

Eva van Rein (Gaia1981), Monday, 16 May 2005 10:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Three of my favourite obscure singles acts from 2003 have just resurfaced with new material, so I'm feeling more optimistic about this year.

The Irrelevant Man (Negativa) (Barima), Monday, 16 May 2005 11:03 (twenty-one years ago)

The usual amount of Worthy Stuff, an abysmally high amount of Duff Stuff, but No Big New Thing to unite around. Much like 1985, really.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Monday, 16 May 2005 11:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Marcello - I've seen 1985 cited as a Bad Year in a fair few places now, and it's a bit confusing. Obviously I was three and thus not really there, but a disproportionate amount of my favourite songs/albums seem to have come from that year - 'Into The Groove' and 'It's A Sin'; Hounds Of Love and Rain Dogs.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 16 May 2005 11:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Was this one of the places you looked, perchance?

(btw, "It's A Sin" was '87)

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Monday, 16 May 2005 11:27 (twenty-one years ago)

It was, ages and ages ago!

I think I meant 'West End Girls'.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 16 May 2005 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

2005- will be remembered as the year that brought us ilDIVO

ZionTrain (ZionTrain), Monday, 16 May 2005 13:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Certainly not Tennessee....

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Monday, 16 May 2005 20:57 (twenty-one years ago)

How 'bout that new MDC album!

George Smith, Monday, 16 May 2005 20:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't keep up with all the new releases this year. I think that's quite telling.. May 24th alone there's like 4 albums coming out that I really want.

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Monday, 16 May 2005 21:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Someone explain the concept of "rascism" please.

First of all, you need to attack somebody because of their ethnic background. Not because they perform within a particular musical genre (like I do) or because they come from a certain kind of subculture (like Comstock does).

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Monday, 16 May 2005 21:05 (twenty-one years ago)

My girlfriend's mom played ilDivo for us on Saturday. I was very disappointed when I discovered they weren't a Hispanic Devo cover band.

darin (darin), Monday, 16 May 2005 21:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Someone should set up a "the state of Geir Hongro 2005" thread.

And by "should" I mean "shouldn't".

And by "someone" I mean "Mark Grout".

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 16 May 2005 21:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Someone should set up Geir Hongro.

In front of a firing squad.
