Ghetto Tech, Booty Bass, and Ass shakin Techno, Ragga and Electro

I'm making a mix set incorporating the above elements. So far I know I want to include:

DJ Assault: Ass'n'Titties
Debasser: Fat Girls
2Live Crew: Pump That Pussy
Imatran Voima: In/Out
The Shaftmen: Shaftman
Goofy: Fudgie
SL2: On A Ragga Tip
MIA: Bucky Done Gone

This kind of thing - the emphasis is on speed and boogying. I especially need a lot of techno and electro but also booty bass and anything else that would fit.

da sampla - with a piece of ice

ass shakin techno:
Spirallianz - Shaolin Shuffle

The Ragga Twins - Hooligan 69 (single mix)

$V£N! (blueski), Friday, 13 May 2005 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks for these - can't wait to check them. A smidge of old-skool jungle or rave wouldn't go amiss either.

dog latin (dog latin), Friday, 13 May 2005 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

MA2 - hearing is believing

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 13 May 2005 12:28 (twenty-one years ago)

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 13 May 2005 12:56 (twenty-one years ago)

anything on the bionic ras riddim, anything on the applause riddim, anything on the jonkanoo (with the exception of never never by vybz kartel coz it's a horrible song), anything on the phantom riddim... all these are round about house tempo

stelfoxxx, Friday, 13 May 2005 13:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Silvah Bullet- 20 Seconds to Comply

Neil Stewart (Neil Stewart), Friday, 13 May 2005 13:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Interesting, I worked on a similar mix a few months ago but abandoned it. The tip here: throw in some modern breakcore. If FFF "Murder" or "Babylon Bwoy" doesn't bring the house down, nothing will.

Siegbran (eofor), Friday, 13 May 2005 13:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Acen - Window In The Sky
80 AUM - Mind Controller
Human Resourse - Dominator

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Friday, 13 May 2005 13:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry to be technical, but it's:

2 Live Crew - Pop That Pussy (unless they did a "Pump" after the fact, and I'm not aware)

I strongly suggest a few other 2 Live Crew songs before this one:

Throw the D (x-rated single version)
Get it Girl (x-rated album version)
C'mon Babe (Doo-Doo Brown edit)

Far more raw, ghetto, and trailblazing than Pop that Pussy.

At the bottom of the Miami Bass primer I wrote, there's a loooong list of essential listening broken down into sub sub genres, and listed by year:

http://www.electroempire.com/miami.htm

Granted, I only like pre-1992 Miami Bass, and I'm not a fan of Ghetto-Tech/Ghett-House at all.

Hope this helps some.

(ignore my typo and just feel the love)

I want to say Disco Rick & The Dogs - '(your mamma's on) Crack Rock' not because it fits in with what you want, just because it's ace. Play it first. Or last.

Affectian (Affectian), Friday, 13 May 2005 15:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Channel One - Technicolor
Fix - Flash
Model 500 - Night Drive Thru Babylon
Aril Brikha - Groove La Chord
Los Hemanos - Birth Of 3000
Psyche - From Beyond

Disco Nihilist (mjt), Friday, 13 May 2005 15:39 (twenty-one years ago)

But steer clear from Disco Rick - The Negro's Back, unless you would enjoy a song called "Stop Throwin' Babies in the Mutha Fuckin' Trash Cans"...wait, I mean SEEK that album out. What am I thinking.?.

Disco Rick's work on the first two Gucci Crew albums is truly ace though. Especially the 2nd one. Whole E Jeez.

PappaWheelie (PappaWheelie), Friday, 13 May 2005 15:40 (twenty-one years ago)

"Stop Throwin' Babies in the Mutha Fuckin' Trash Cans", I really *have* to hear that. Does he have anything else as nursery rhyme ace as Crack Rock?

Affectian (Affectian), Friday, 13 May 2005 16:01 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm out of my depth but:

andrea doria: bucci bag

g e o f f (gcannon), Friday, 13 May 2005 16:03 (twenty-one years ago)

[[[Does he have anything else as nursery rhyme ace as Crack Rock?]]]

Not that comes to mind. Most of his stuff got political after that album, which failed, so he became a parody of himself after that.

My other fave goofy Disco Rick moment was a song called 'Fuck You'. There was a beat, and a meek, drunken guy saying to Rick 'Fuck You', and Rick and the Dogs would respond with a resounding "don't fuck me, FUCK YOU!". This was not rapping...more like spoken word...and it went on for at least 3 minutes.

PappaWheelie (PappaWheelie), Friday, 13 May 2005 16:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I've no idea what riddim it is and I don't profess to be the most knowledgeable on the subject, but "Fuck Me On The Dancefloor" by Disco D feat Princess Superstar is as good as it sounds.

anything by DJ Funk
and maybe
Bugz In The Attic - Booty La La

one time gaffled 'em up, Friday, 13 May 2005 20:37 (twenty-one years ago)

(It's funny, I was listening to the five-o-clock whatever-it's-called-now on WJLB today, and I don't think the ghetto tech radio playlists have changed in five (or more?) years: where my dogs at, lay it down, bang that beat (whatever its called),... does anyone make new tracks? does anyone know what they are???)

to answer the question:
detroit grand pubas "sandwiches"
mr de "what you like"
dopplereffekt "mannequin"
cybotron "clear"

xpost- that splack pack song is great too.

and if you don't know "ass-n-tittes 2001" you should check that out.

jake b. (cerybut), Monday, 16 May 2005 08:08 (twenty-one years ago)

$V£N! (blueski), Monday, 16 May 2005 08:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, please no more old skool rave and jungle for now at least (though the recommendations are good so far). More Electro and def more Miami stuff plz!

Sir Mix A Lot played out I guess?

I'd want to put actual Grime or Baile Funk on it rather than M.I.A. though to be honest.

fandango (fandango), Thursday, 20 July 2006 11:06 (nineteen years ago)

go on then

wogan lenin (dog latin), Thursday, 20 July 2006 12:14 (nineteen years ago)

?? it's not my mix ... MIA's vocal prowess just makes me limp is all. But as I don't have any suggestions other than that Juno link right now... I'm not being constructive, sorry.
