The theme is good jazz that's pretty/easy enough for a beginner to start getting into it. I like scare jazz too much to trust my own instincts for such a thing completely.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Saturday, 14 May 2005 23:44 (twenty-one years ago)

OK. Let's make "Kind Of Blue" #13 except it is probably #1 for most.

13. Miles Davis: Kind Of Blue

"Milestones" was a rather heavy free jazz album that is hardly Miles for beginners.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Saturday, 14 May 2005 23:57 (twenty-one years ago)

"Milestones" is hardly free jazz. I'm talking about the track that's also referred to as "Miles."

18. Kenny Burrell - Chitlins Con Carne

That's "Scary Jazz" sorry. Sometimes I really wish ilx had an edit function.

Thanks for the recommendations. Lots of these are faves of mine already, but I also want to put (for example) Lonely Woman in this category, and it freaks out some people.

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Sunday, 15 May 2005 05:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, I like the phrase "scare jazz." That should be a subgenre on AMG.
