...are incredible. Even if the sound quality is usually pretty bad, and the songs are occasionally latter-day remakes and stuff. This is the kind of thing that basically couldn't exist in a legit form, right? Negotiating the licensing rights would be nightmarish, the price would be outrageous.

Anyway, I've downloaded all of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Now I'm working on the 60s and 50s. This stuff is almost all that I listen to now.

what is this?

Go to any big bittorrent site and search for "billboard." You'll find collections of billboard's top 100 singles by year. They're about 500 megs per year.

These are probably on Soulseek too. Bittorrent is usually faster.

grouped together in order or something?

Yeah. By year. So you can get the top 100 singles of, say, 1964.

I'd just link to them, but that's probably against the rules.

For those who can't be bothered to click, googlebooks has scanned in every issue of Billboard.

rookie question. I'm hoping to find a free online repository of the hot 100 from 2001 onward, but I'm out of google terms. I need to construct a list of not the #1 songs, but the #2 & #3 songs. If a link is easily posted, I'd be grateful / feel free to send email to this user etc.
