Should I go see Sleater-Kinney w/ Dead Meadow or Billy Corgan?

I can't decide. Both is not an option.

Sorry, it is. Clone yourself.

Corgan, dude. Sleater-Kinney whataver, but Dead Meadow are the suck

The Roj, Saturday, 21 May 2005 02:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd go see Corgan, though I'm not really a fan of his. I can't imagine Sleater-Kinney being very exciting live. I could, of course, be wrong.

Dead Meadow are friigin' awesome!.

Aerodynamic (Aerodynamic), Saturday, 21 May 2005 02:16 (twenty-one years ago)

S-K are actually pretty intense live. When I first moved to Seattle, I saw just about every show they did here for about two years.

Sleater-Kinney are the best live band I've ever seen, Alex

A Viking of Some Note (Andrew Thames), Saturday, 21 May 2005 02:32 (twenty-one years ago)

wow. Okay, I stand corrected. The only thing I'm going on, really, is their albums -- which have never done much for me -- and I saw Quasi live once (opening for Elliott Smith) and they were as dull as dishwater (not that Elliott set the stage on fire by comparison either, mind you)

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 21 May 2005 02:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, SK rule live. Brownstein owns the stage.

jmeister (jmeister), Saturday, 21 May 2005 02:43 (twenty-one years ago)

SK live was indeed the best I've ever seen

Gear! (can Jung shill it, Mu?) (Gear!), Saturday, 21 May 2005 02:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Carrie does rule. She's cool like Keith up there. They're great live.

gypsy mothra (gypsy mothra), Saturday, 21 May 2005 02:47 (twenty-one years ago)

sleater-kinney are phenomenal live. if you like them enough to even consider going, you'll love the show. i think dead meadow are pretty awesome live too, so taking corgan over sleater/DM is not even close to an option IMO.

i loved the pumpkins, but corgan needs to win me back before i start seeing him live again.

rajeev (rajeev), Saturday, 21 May 2005 05:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmm. I'm an ex-fan of Corgan (since '96 or so) and a never-fan of SK, but I like some Quasi and I really like the Donner Party, so I'd go with SK.

I really can't believe how any music fan can take Dead Meadow seriously. I mean, have you never heard metal before?

I DARE you to defend the vocals.

Roger, Saturday, 21 May 2005 05:51 (twenty-one years ago)

SK live is one of the most cathartic experiences ever. Sometimes I think they hold the title of, er, The World's Greatest Rock and Roll Band.

Jazzbo (jmcgaw), Saturday, 21 May 2005 13:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Saw'em in Chicago in '02 and agree. Anyone going to the Atlanta show?

Alfred Soto (Alfred Soto), Saturday, 21 May 2005 13:13 (twenty-one years ago)

S-K it is I guess. Mainly because Billy Corgan is charging $40 for a show at fucking WEBSTER HALL... where pretty much every show is $15.

Let's see, drinking an entire glass of your dad's spit, OR doing naked jumping jacks in front of your boss.

I think you want ILE

This thread makes me sad.

SK playing two consecutive nights in LA. I will of course be in NY for both.

Dear job that pays the rent and gets me nice things like the laptop on which I am writing this: thanks for pooping in my oatmeal.

If it makes you feel any better, I'll buy you a beer in NY.
