once compelling pop groups hobbling into middle age, seeming less and less remarkable and individual as they go?

or is one of these records better than that? are they both better than that? forgotten classics, even?

songs that make me think i should persevere with these records: gb's "still", bone thugs "Ecstasy".

thoughts?

Weirdly, the only tracks I know from both those albums are "Still" and "Ecstasy". But they're both great tracks. Much as I love both acts, I've got major love for BTnH going on at the moment. Gotta love that vocal interplay. But I'd say definitely both worth giving time to.

I haven't heard the Geto Boys LP, but I think "BTNHResurreection" is definitely underrated. It has some very good tunes, the first three tracks are all superb, as well as "Resurrection", "Don't Worry" and "Mind on Our Money"; "Weed Song" is a fun ganja ballad, and the best track is probably

That Geto Boys album is great, full stop. A couple of weak tracks but the high points outweight the lows by a wide margin for me. "I Tried, "Still," "Dirty B*!#h," "Yes Yes Y'all"...great stuff.

(Whoops, my post was cut short there.)

...the best track is probably "Change the World" - as far as bathos-fuelled rap songs go, it's almost as good as "Da Crossroads".

But I'd steer clear of BTnH's Ecstasy dealer. That's some fucked-up shit he's selling.
