Music for an iguana lazily basking in the midday sun

This would be me but I'm actually just going on a little beach holiday. I need to leave the tight jerky rhythms and punishing beats of the city behind and bask in some blissed out musical space!

What music should I take with me???

Funny you should mention this, the first warm day of spring I sat on a hot roof stoned all day listening to the first Os Mutantes album pretending I was a lizard.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 11:05 (twenty-one years ago)

And AC Jobim thirded, maybe try his Wave LP. Music don't get much sunnier, lazier than that.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, and by Adventures in Paradise I meant the whole LP, not just the song of the same title. "Love and It's Glory", "Alone in Brewster Bay", and "Simple Things" are my favourite songs there.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 11:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Song recommendations out the top of my head:

The Meters: "Africa"

Patti Austin: "Havana Candy"
Fontella Bass: "To Be Free"
Flora Purim: "Dindi"
Airto: "San Fransisco River"
Dave Brubeck: "Strange Meadow Lark"
Alphonse Mouzon: "Spring Water"
Lô Borges: "O Trem Azul"
