Why Hasn't Somebody Reissued "Kill from the Heart" by the Dicks yet?

Huh? How bout it? It's great! Some of the songs are on the Alt. Tentacles "1980-1986" comp but I want all of them damn it.

yes, the dicks rule and that record is fantastic! i lost my tape of it so it's gone forever! that comp. is disappointing cuz it's got all these later recordings that kinda suck and take up space that could be filled with the whole "kill from the heart" record.

I think it's got something to do with SST. Although they let Alt Tentacles use some of the songs for the compilation, so I dunno. They could reissue the Subhumans and Stains albums as well while they're at it.

From what I understand, it went out of print on SST really quckly, too...anyone know anything about this?

I don't know the reason why, but I do know they never repressed it after it originally went out of print back in the early 80's. There has been a bootleg issue but that's almost as hard to find as the legit version these days.

I'd love to get my hands on a copy of this record but I refuse to pay more than £25 for any record! Until then I'll make do with the 80-86 CD and the mp3s of the LP.

I've got the vinyl bootleg from a few years ago. The sound quality's pretty bad. I'd heard it was put out by the instrumental part of the band after Gary Floyd shut out them of royalties on the AT comp.

However, They played in Austin in March (I think that's supposed to say '2005'), so I don't know if that info is true, or if they've settled their differences.
PS: I wasn't at the show and didn't take those pictures. That guy's name's just a coincidence.

the song 'kill from the heart' is great. I love when it just explodes into being a fast song.

That sound sounds like it wants to beat you up only slightly more than it wants to beat itself up. Or vice versa. Either way it rules incredibly.

gary's voice is just great, and that guitar tone is so fuzzed out.

those reunion pics are just strange.

I know Alternative Tentacles did reissue this eventually off a vinyl copy of the record because I assume Greg Ginn still has the masters or something, which I have

But I would like to acknowledge this band and just how fucking cool Gary Floyd was
