Two discs of ragga and 2step garage, mostly late-'90s/early-'00s vintage. I've played about half of it and it's really really good, plus it features B-15's remix of "Girls Like Us" by Crissy D & Lady G, one of my favorite singles of the past 10 years, and lots of other good stuff by Elephant Man, Lady Saw, Musical Niper, Rappa Robert, Tony Curtis, and others. Oracabessa was (is?) a UB40-owned label, seemingly in the same way Blood & Fire has the guy from Simply Red behind it. But in both cases, the labels have a lot of killer stuff on it. Listening, it's reminding me of the early days of ILM (awwwww . . .), bright, poppy, playful, but acute and aware at the same time. Tim, Jess, Ronan, et al to thread!
