Does anyone use one of these amps? Any feedback good or negative? Does the amp emulation thing work well? How's the basic sound? Effects any good? I heard that you need 3 separate footswitches to control channels/FX/Delay - is that right?
I'm not really that interested in 'don't get a Cube get amp X instead' sort of comments, just direct info on the Cube itself. Thanks!

'Feedback' as in info, not FEEEEEDDDDBACK!

Hi, Doc.
Alas, I cannot help you. I don't think I've really played with an amp in 5 years! It's all acoustic finger-picking round my way now, la.

(Presuming guitar, not keyboard or bass?)
I played a lot through a Cube 30 in pre-DSP days. The Cubes generally are well-regarded, reliable solid state amps, with good reason. I've never witnessed a problem or heard a complaint about a Roland amp; my love for the JC120 knows no bounds.
As for the sound, well, are you not in a situation where you can go play/hear one? The convincingness of modeling and emulation is very much in the ear of the beholder. I think I can hear the "fakeness" of my own amp modeler as compared to the Real Thing, but I've got no idea whether I'd be able to peg a modeled sound in a blind test.
I also don't know whether the difference between a modeled AC30 (or whatever) and the Real Thing transmits to an average club or bar audience, or whether the difference is worth the trouble. I DO know that I'd much rather take a reliable, durable Cube around from gig to gig than an expensive and cranky vintage tube amp.
(That said, right now I'm digging the crunch of slightly aged Fender SS combos.)

Yes - guitar. And yes, I've tried one. I was pretty impressed, but it was only a 10 minute muck around so I thought I'd ask for other opinions.

Oh, and about the footswitches. My understanding is that you want two FS-5s, one for channel-changing and one for effects on/off.
But it's not as cumbersome as it sounds. Boss footswitches all have groovy little channel thingies on the sides so they can be linked together; it's effectively just like having a 2-button footswitch. And they'd use a TRS connector to minimize the cord tangle.
