why is he a douchebag? He's not being 'authentically' materialistic? If this is what it's come to I give up. Kinda lame for using the word jiggy in the first place, I'm with you there but jeez.

why bring materialism into it at all though?? i mean i know it's because he's making fun of the show but it would be nicer to me if he wasn't

(but look i don't even know the pernice bros and i'm sure the guy isn't really a douchebag. i mostly liked the idea cuz it reminded me of this - ILX "Cribs" - which was nice & fun without seeming like a sarcastic way of smuggling in a point about how being indie is more real than being rich [and black])

But other than and maybe including the 'jiggy' thing, the way it's played it's more self-deprecating than self-righteous, though it's skirting a fine line. I mean, in practice all he could have done to distance himself from sarcasm is find someone with a nicer house and do it there. With the caveat that being black I'm probably not the most qualified judging this dude's intent( seeing how I'm basically butting into what amounts to a relatively obscure, mostly intra-racial discussion((whether or not you're actually white)))

yeah no fair enough - i'm even less qualified to judge his intent, since i'm not familiar with his band anyway. and this is just a little movie for fans on his site. total overreaction - i'm just bored today i guess, sorry y'all

I actually like some of his stuff, which I didn't take into account in defending him, to the extent that I am defending him. I've heard Overcome By Happiness which has some pretty numbers although one of the best songs is kind of mired in Costelloishness that's kind of annoying after a while.
