I recently read an interview with Liam Gallagher where he surprisingly mentions Jean-François Lyotard and distrust of meta-narratives, and obliquely implies that the Oasis album title may have something to do with that.

Yeah, I read that interview too. I was pretty amazed Gallagher had heard of Lyotard. Not as dumb as he looks, perhaps.
