I just heard 'boy/girl' and am slightly obsessed with it already. I Couldn't find a thread for these guys anywhere so I figured I'd start one. What else is decent? I remember not being too impressed by a black strobe mix of one of their tracks a wee while ago.

Anyone heard them dj? their website has some playlists which look very intriguing.

i heard 'she's heavy metal' for the first time the other day (mixed in to 'the abwehr disco,' obviously enough) and it sounded great. it's the kind of big dumb rocky track that i feel silly for loving so much but i can't help it.

Wow. that sounds very different to boy/girl which is much more of a dance track.

"Boy/Girl" is amazing and hands down their finest moment, but it's also a bit of an anomaly for them.

SEARCH: their first album, which is slightly patchy but has some great moments - the pristine & eerie electro-pop of "Flash", the crunchy disco-rock of "Dance Like It Is O.K." and the all-around-great "The Biggest Fan" - not to mention "Boy/Girl"! Gratuitous remix mentions: the Black Strobe mix of "The Biggest Fan" and the awesome Tiga Acid Flashback mix of "Flash". Also: their excellent remix of Tok Tok vs Soffy O's "Missy Queen's Gonna Die", which they remade as their own in their live performances.

DESTROY: their second album, which has a few not bad moments but is largely a surprisingly conservative retreat into boring post-electroclash (it's not that they didn't do this before, but they used to do more too...)

SEARCH: their live act, at least as it was at the beginning of '03, when it was all white jumpsuits, rock star posing, micro rhythms and homoeroticism.

NOT BAD: their Cruising mix - which is more of a largely-unmixed "Back To Mine" affair - lotsa spacey psuedo-electro-rock, kinda Tigersushi-esque.

If you love "Boy/Girl" you would probably really like a lot of the recent stuff on Firm Records, particularly Schad Privat's "One Night At The Dizko".

Oh, thank you. that's great.

Soulseeking now......

Ah, I know geiger from his excellent kompakt remixes and heiko voss too. This looks great. :)

oh, my wallet is going to take a pounding in the near future with all this.....

Somewhat similar to "Boy/Girl" but not so much to Firm is 240 Volts related stuff - the Richard Davis album, Swayzek etc.

And Alexander Kowalski's "And I Will Find You" is urgent and key (although most everything else he does is propah techno)

I have heard Mr Kowalski's 'lock me up' which I quite like.

"And I Will Find You" is slightly more relaxed and dreamy.

Another remix mention..
"Love The Machine" (Robag Wruhmes Robakkbröswodkainferno Remix)
This one always blows my head off.

Tim owns this thread, but I'll second "Dance Like It is Ok," "Boy/Girl," all the mixes of "The Biggest Fan," and definitely their Missy Queen remix.
